Bridgeport, present day...
In spite all the shit going on in their lives, the mood in one of the meeting rooms at O+ Records was phenomenal.
Krimsyn couldn’t stop smiling as she ripped through one of the five boxes stacked around the room.
“Hello darling!” She whispered, holding up one of the CDs. She stared at it for eternity, tears glistening in her eyes.
And then she grabbed Katie, the songwriter they’d hired for After Dark, and twirled her around the room, both of them laughing and screaming at the top of their lungs.
“It's party time! P-A-R-T-whY? Because I gotta!” Cameron, in a voice very similar to Jim Carrey's in The Mask, joined their madness, while J.D. and Krisis, slapped each other’s backs in a congratulatory fashion.
After months of working their asses off, writing songs, reworking lyrics, band practice and endless hours in studio, the finished product was finally in their hands; their supplier had just dropped off the first thousand After Dark CDs for the release party just a fortnight away.
A mysterious looking vial of ecstasy came out of someone’s pockets and with the exception of Krimsyn they all clamored around the table to get their hits. They washed down the magic pills with SKYY Vodka and Jack Daniels, drinking it straight from the bottles while thin sticks of MJ were expertly rolled and smoked at an incredible rate.
By the time Mark, their record producer, and the rest of the band’s management team showed up the room was covered in a thick cloud of smoke and all five K-Infinity members were riding a euphoric wave.
“Let’s get to work people!” Mark hollered at everyone and went straight for the bar. He reached for a colorful cocktail and bumped a blunt from Cameron; he took a few pulls from it before rushing everyone to the table.
Natalie, the band’s publicist, ran through the program for the meeting. The first item on the agenda was the album production. Now that they had the promotional CDs safely in their hands, they could all breathe again.
More bottles were opened, glasses chinked and the small pink pills lined the surface once more as they went through another round of excited congratulations.
Despite the glares and the complaints, Natalie steered the group back to the reason for the meeting and they reluctantly returned to their seats.
For the next hour they discussed the release party, from the venue and publicity surrounding the event, to the guest list and the entertainment lineup.
Stanley, the band’s manager, wrapped up the meeting with the announcement that their first single from After Dark, A Love Since Forgotten, released six weeks earlier, had made it to the top ten on the Dark Forces charts.
At the parking lot, plans to carry on with the impromptu party were quickly made. None of them wanted to go home. Their lives behind closed doors were too depressing and so damn complicated. They wanted to hang on to their happy bubble for a little while longer.
They piled up in their cars and raced to the Flaming Flamingo, the nightclub where Krimsyn and J.D. had held their engagement party almost a year earlier.
_______
_______
J.D.
Krimsyn and J.D. put on a fantastic show for everyone as they cuddled in their VIP booth. Other than Krisis, no one else knew they were in the middle of a raging war.
“What are we going to do about Mickey,” Krimsyn shouted over the loud music, trying to fill the tense silence between them.
J.D. shrugged. He didn’t know. Something was seriously wrong with their daughter, they’d both seen it that morning and he had no frigging clue how to help her. He wished he was good with words and women and their emotions.
“I’ll talk to her,” he yelled back at Krimsyn and looked away. He was still so angry with her for tampering with his document from the VIA. She didn’t trust him, didn’t believe his word. And that hurt him deeply.
“I trust you. I was afraid you’d go back, that’s all,” she answered his thoughts. J.D. shrugged, dismissing her silent pleas for forgiveness.
The truth is though he wasn’t entirely sure who he was mad at the most, Krimsyn for not trusting him, or himself for lying to her. He’d never tell her this but he missed being a SWAT agent, missed the excitement, the adrenaline rush, and the emotional high he’d gotten from catching bad guys. If circumstances were different, he would have accepted VIA’s offer to head his own unit in a heartbeat. But he’d given his word to Krimsyn, he wasn’t that person anymore. He knew her fears and insecurities and he’d never do anything to fuel them.
“Come here,” he growled, realizing all over again just how much he loved her and cherished what they have.
Krimsyn blinked, surprised by his sudden turnabout. She flashed her fangs, moving closer. His groin tightened, aching for her.
Their makeup kiss was hard and angry; he was punishing her for not believing and trusting in him.
Krimsyn pulled back, shocked, angry, confused. She started to move away, but he reached for her again, and took her mouth gently. This time it was an apology he gave her.
“I promise you, here and now, you have nothing to worry about. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than right here with you,” he murmured, kissing her ear lobe.
“I know. What I did was uncalled for. I can't justify it and I won't. But I am deeply ashamed I let my fears get the better of me. I'm sorry," she whispered back, running her hands on his thigh, raising them to the straining erection in his pants.
He greedily crushed her lips with his, and smiled to himself when he heard her soft whimpers.
Wordlessly, she got up from the seat and took his hand. He followed her as she led the way to the ladies' room. Their passion wouldn't wait till they were home, their hunger screamed for instant gratification.

They rushed inside one of the stalls, their hands and lips eager and ready…
_______
Krisis...
After signing a few autographs, some on very strange places, Krisis made his way to the bar and downed one drink after another, wishing he was a thousand miles away with Leigh in his arms. But she was still so hell bent on staying at the hotel, refusing to come home till he’d made peace with the bullshit with Thornton.
He took a long sip from the glass and winced when the bitter liquid stung his throat. He closed his eyes, remembering the kiss he’d stolen from her earlier that morning when she’d stopped by to pick up Lily for their trip to the park.
He’d wanted to steal more than just a kiss from her, and he knew if Patty hadn’t walked in when she did, he would have taken Leigh right there on the dining table.
Suddenly he couldn’t wait for their babies’ arrival. He missed Leigh in every way possible; he missed her body underneath his, the heat between her thighs, her soft whimpers in the dark, her hazel eyes heavy with lust, and her soft folds enveloping him, sending him on the edge of the world.
“Fuck,” he growled under his breath, when he looked down and saw the evidence of his lustful thoughts standing proudly in his pants.
He slammed the glass on the surface and walked out. Fuck the time apart. He was going to her, and he’d have his way with her, make her see just how much he needed and wanted her back in his arms…
________
Cameron...
Despite flirting with every woman walking past him, Katie included, Cameron’s heart longed for only one.
Back at Hollow Creek, a part of him had wanted nothing more than to take Michaela in his arms and kiss her till she promised she’d never leave the house again without him. But he’d held back. She was confused and distraught. He had to stay away from her. Give her time to accept what she’d almost done, and let her figure things out on her own.
He wanted to tell her how he felt about her, but he wouldn’t. It wasn’t the right time. Besides, she’d sent him away at her door when he’d dropped her off that morning, insisting she needed to be alone, and she’d deal with her parents on her own terms.
He’d back off. Give her all the time she needed. He wondered though how he was going to do that since he wasn’t known for patience. But for her, he’d wait a lifetime.
He knew he had to tread carefully with her. He didn’t want to scare her off, or push her into anything she wasn’t ready for, or didn’t want. She wasn’t some random groupie. She was different…
Michaela had snuck up on him like a thief in the night and thoroughly enmeshed herself in his life and now he couldn’t get her out of his system. Not that he wanted to.
A small group of college kids walked in. Their high pitched chatter and laughter annoyed the shit out of him, and he was almost at the door, leaving, when he bumped into Maddie, Michaela’s best friend, and two other girls he’d never met before.
He pulled her aside and asked her where Michaela was. They were usually joined at the hip.
“I don’t know. At home I think. I called her but she said she had stuff to do,” Maddie replied, throwing her long dark her hair over her shoulder with a flick of her head.
Her friends screamed at her to get a move on, happy hour was almost over and they wouldn’t miss out on free drinks because she was chatting up a hottie rockstar.
“Go have fun with your friends,” Cameron waved her off and left the club. He’d changed his mind about staying away from Michaela. Normally, she would never pass up a night out with her friends. She was obviously still in a bad way, letting her guilt get the better of her. He had to see her, make her understand that she didn’t kill that guy, dead men don’t just get up and walk away.
He’d just unlocked his car when Krisis drove past, throwing dirty looks at him as he sped off.
Cameron stared after him, wondering if the man had a radar for these things; it was almost as if Krisis knew where he was headed.
He shook off his paranoia and got in his car, speeding through the evening traffic.
It took him exactly two minutes from the Flaming Flamingo to the Frosts’ penthouse. He rang the buzzer three times before Caroline, the Frosts' butler, answered.
She sounded irritable when she told him Michaela wasn’t home. Apparently she’d disappeared soon after her parents left for work that morning. Caroline thought she'd skipped school because her backpack was there.
Cameron thanked the butler for her time and she grunted something inaudible before the intercom went dead.
He had a deep frown on his face as he slowly walked to his car, his hands stuffed in his pockets, silently contemplating what he should do. She could be anywhere and finding her would be impossible, and she wasn’t making it easy; her phone was turned off, he'd tried it on his way to her place.
As he slowly cruised home, deflated and disappointed, he kept hoping she wasn’t on another hunting trip.
For the first time in his life, he felt something very much unfamiliar and disturbing. Worry and concern for another…
Special thanks to Fae/Zhippidy for writing all the songs in After Dark and for your girl, Katie, she's made an awesome addition to the band. Without you and Katie there wouldn't be an album release party. I can never thank you enough for your kindness and for all the work you've put into After Dark and the follow up album. You Rock!

So happy to see an update this morning!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad JD and Krimsyn made up. I like them so much as a couple and their fighting made me sad. Now hopefully they can clear their heads enough to notice what's going on with their daughter.
Krisis needs to go talk to Thorton so he can get Leigh back because that seems to be the only way unless her talk with El changed her mind.
I'm hoping that Cameron goes home to find Mickey there waiting for him. :)
So much going on beneath the cover of a party. The harder they tried to drink and drug their pain away, the tighter it clung to them.
ReplyDeleteI was glad to see JD and Krimsyn break thru their issues and find each other again. Now that their healing has begun, maybe they'll pay more attention to her daughter.
I hope Cam is wrong and she's not trying to hunt again. Did her guilt push her to harm herself? Did the person who moved that body come for her, too? Too many terrible options, and no clue where she is. I hope they find her safe and sound.
Krisis, go get your woman!
I am so happy that JD and Krimsyn are moving past what Krimsyn did!
ReplyDeleteFor a minute, I was scared that Krisis was going to get involved with someone at the party, but he sat there just missing Leigh! Maybe she won't turn him away this time!
Where is Michaela? I hope that Cameron finds her before something else happens to her!
I loved It! More soon, if you can!
Oh lord, Val. Are you trying to make me kill poor Cam?! Or maybe it's because I seem to be on the same wavelength as Krisis. I love him and Mickey together, I honestly do, but boy needs to give her some space. I know if I had killed someone recently, I wouldn't exactly want to speak with anyone, especially the person who was going to essentially help me clean it up, because it would only remind me of it more. But then again, maybe she needs a shoulder to cry on, because she feels like she can't open up to her parents or anyone else, which I think every teen falsely believes. The truth always comes out eventually anyways, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteAND VAL, why are you torturing my poor Krisis? :,( I feel so bad for him, but at the end of the day, Leigh needs to do what is best for her and overall their relationship. I guess I'll just have to suck it up, and wait patiently for the babies.
I love how Krimsyn and JD have been together seemingly forever, but they still act like teenagers, and still can't keep their hands off each other. xD
<3
Great chapter! Some crazy stuff going on! I hope everyone can get over their drama now. I swear if Krisis and Leigh arnt made up by the time the babies come i may just scream...
ReplyDeleteYou are killing me here! >.<
Rose,
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yeah, crazy stuff indeed. Yes, everyone is on the way to a happy ending. Nine chapters to go and it's a wrap.LOL @ you screaming. I'm kind of looking forward to that. LMAO. No, just kidding.
Jazen,
ReplyDeleteYeah? I'm glad.
Aw, I like them too. And yes, they've cleared their heads and they have noticed what's going on with Mickey. She'll get the help she needs now.
Krisis does need to talk to Thornton, but who knows, maybe his tide has turned. We'll see.
Cameron would love that!
Thanks for reading.
Jill,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, as much as they tried to pretend to be having fun, they weren't, the reality of their private messes is all too much for them.
They have cleared the issue with the VIA, but the chapter after this, a lot of it unravels. Their make up was too easy, too clean and too soon...
Cam, having seen her at her absolute worst has every reason to worry and stress over her. But I can safely say she's not on another hunting trip and she hasn't harmed herself. She just needs time to get a handle on everything.
Yeah, it's about time he manned up and went after Leigh.
I just need to clarify, this happens later the same day Leigh too Lily to the park and Cameron went to find Mickey in Hollow Creek, so Leigh hasn't had her dinner with Thorny yet.
Thanks for reading!
11daisies,
ReplyDeleteYes, they are. J.D. was never one to hold grudges.
I think Leigh has Krisis by the ballz. He has no desire to look at another woman, let alone cheat on Leigh. Besides, with his twin there, she would have called him out right there and then.
Michaela is just out, thinking. She's not doing anything hectic really.
Thank you. I'm glad you loved it. And I've just had to rewrite the next update to accommodate for the change of Leigh's and Krisis' house, so that's delayed picture taking, but more will come soon, I promise. Thanks for reading.
brookeshire,
ReplyDelete*hugs*
And I'm so mad at you! You started a new story and you didn't tell me *boo hoo on you*
LOL. No, please, I wouldn't want you to kill our poor Cam. You're absolutely right though, he does need to give her the space she needs. But he's also seen her at her worst and he knows what she's capable of, that's why he wants to find her before she does something far worse than she's already done.
I guess you'll be thrilled with the next update then. We see your Krisis and his Leigh.
I love them too. I tend to focus on Leigh and Krisis too much, so knowing that small, telltale things about other couples in the story manage to come through, gives me some relief that I'm at least doing something right.
Thanks so much for reading and for sticking with this.
I hope Krisis and Leigh can work this out and she goes home. Poor Michaela I hope she can come to terms with this and glad to see her parents are made up :)
ReplyDeleteHi ! i love this chapter , as the others!
ReplyDeleteMy mind is tot split with the realtionzips of krisis . each and one of them is different but they never fail to keep me hangin.
1:Krisis and leah are no good apart but i understan what leigh says , and she has a point . the only way of saving it is to have krisis arrange his shit . I hope the babys unite them!
2:Krimisin and jd are a headache. I long to see him in SWat but i understand her concerns . Maby amedium point?
3:last but not least , Camerons softy side is coming out ! hes so cute!. Michaela really needs to get over it , but i understand her trauma.Cam go and save the day!
im sorry for my long comment it is just that i never comment but i will start do do it regularly , as you are so friendly and nice!
lckygrl1975,
ReplyDeleteI don't want to reveal too much, but I think the next chapter will make you smile.
GirlyGirl,
ReplyDelete*hugs*
great to hear from you again.
I'm glad you loved this chapter and the others.
I bet they are emotionally exhausting too, the relationship in Krisis. LOL. Sorry. I promise it gets better in a few more updates.
1. I agree, the time apart isn't doing Leigh and Krisis any good, and he will have to deal with his shit if he wants to restore his relationship with Leigh.
2. LOL @ Syn and JD being a headache. Aint that the truth! But I still love them to bits. I'm afraid with their situation there is no middle ground, he's either in S.W.A.T or he's not.
3. Yeah, Michaela is bringing out all sorts of strange feelings from him.
No, don't apologize for the long comment and I'm looking forward to hearing from you regularly.
Thanks for reading.
A little late with my reply, had a busy weak behind me but I still read your chapter when you posted this weak :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cliffhangers you give us with all the couples! I understand why Krimsyn doesn't want him at that job but on the otherside I think she should let him free and decide for its own. He is a vampire not a weak little human. ;D
I can't wait to see what Krisis is going to do and I can't wait to read if Cam finds Micky! Knowing you it will probably be totally different then I think is going to happen and I just love that ;D
Val,
ReplyDeleteI like the informal rock-star vibe you gave to the party. You almost feel as if you're tresspassing - any moment now a bodyguard will come over and tell you to get your ass out of there -
mmmmm Krisis - I'm not even going to say more - I'm not crazy about people smoking, but he looks just smoking hot with that cigar in his hand - damn.
Where is Michaela - and I wanted to say something earlier about Cameron's car - nice ride! Suits him - I have one of those in my game too, but don't have a sim that deserves to drive one yet. I need one with attitude, just like Cam (I'm starting to like him alot)
JD and Krimsyn (sigh) they do make a lovely couple - and it is actually sad that JD has to give up his dream to be with Krimsyn - don't you think he will resent her later on?
Loved this chapter - a little bit of everything.
Dutchy,
ReplyDeleteI don't do cliff hangers so that wasn't my intention. I didn't think about that till you mentioned it, but you're right, i left you with a lot of unanswered questions with all the couples. I'm thinking the next few chapters will answer those questions though.
That's the thing though, JD has already decided he doesn't want to go back to S.W.A.T. Mhhh, I guess we'll have to wait and see about Mickey
Thanks for reading.
Kalene,
ReplyDeleteReally? I'm glad. LOL. I had no idea what I was doing with that mini party, so many rewrites and such, so I'm glad if it felt like a real party.
LMAO @ your comment on Krisis. I know what you mean. He speaks to me too...
Michaela is just out, thinking, that's all. Like you, I've had that car in my game forever, I just never found the right owner, till Cameron. Welcome to the Cameron fanclub, please collect your membership card at the reception desk :)
JD and Krimsyn are perfect for each other, I love how in tune they are with each other, and you're right, it is sad that he had to give it all up, but at the end of the day it was a choice he made, though Krimsyn feels like she pushed him into it. And in a way maybe she did. More on the hows and the whys will be discussed in the chapter after the next one.And that's exactly what Krimsyn is afraid of, his resentment.
Thank you.
wheeeeeee~!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm happyfacing all over for J.D and Krimmy. I'm glad they're back together, but I do feel a bit bad for him that he can't do what he wants to... But of course, love come first right? The crazy things people do for love... He made a promise to her, and im proud that he's gonna keep it!
I'm think I may or may not have a strange feeling about Krisis and his going to Leigh. I know she wants him to heal things with his father but I'm starting to think that she shouldn't be rushing him like this! I don't think that his relashionship with his father should be forced, but that he should come to the decision to find out about what happened for himself. When he's really ready. I know Leigh is trying he help by pushing him into a situation where he'll have to listen to his father, but i don't think she should you know?
Also, WHAT SHALL HAPPEN WHEN CAM FINDS MICHAELA?!??! :O *sniff*
#TEAM CAM.
Eni,
ReplyDeleteLMAO @ happyfacing. It's good to hear from you. I hope you are feeling better and school's not kicking your butt too much?
For JD love def comes first, he's proving that all the time by not going after what his wants.
The next chapter on Krisis and Leigh is up so I won't talk much on that, but I think I get what you mean, she should be supportive and not push him into anything he's not ready for. I get ya, but then again if he's not pushed, he might never deal with the problem.
I can safely say Cam won't find Michaela. But I like the idea of a "Team Cam"
Thanks for sticking with this, always :)
Sorry for getting so far behind again.
ReplyDeleteI know we talked about the recreation drug use before, but DAMN! That was some heavy usage there :D Ah! The life of a Rock Start, I guess.
I am glad Krimsyn and JD seem to be making up. Hopefully now they can focus more of there attention towards Michalea.
When is Krisis going to learn he can't just DEMAND things of Leigh and expect it all to just fall where he wants. i see that as a BIG part of their problem.
I wonder where Michaela is? I hope Cameron...or someone, finds her before she gets into more trouble.
Ugh! Im so close to actually being caught up but it's 12:00 and my eyes are cloudy so I'll make myself stop. THIS IS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!! You rock as a writer Val, keep the stories coming :)
ReplyDelete
