Summary: Leigh reflects on her relationship with Krisis
________
Bridgeport, present day...
Leigh watched the angry raindrops pummel her window pane, she saw a few pedestrians wrestle it out with their umbrellas, saw twigs and branches snap from the trees and get washed away in the torrid rain. But she wasn’t there. Not in her room. Not even out there in the raging storm. She was somewhere inside a cold church in downtown, silently offering her support to Krisis.
She knew it was a hard day for him, but in a few hours, with the memorial service behind them, things would get a lot harder. There were serious issues between them that had to be addressed.
Their blissful relationship had changed drastically in a matter of days, maybe hours even, and she could trace it back to his half-truths when he had insisted he couldn’t tell her about the Council’s ruling.
They hadn’t talked much over the past few days; he was constantly on the go, taking care of Lily, arranging the memorial service, splitting his time between the band and everyone else, everyone else but her. The few times he answered her calls, he was distant.
Leigh forced herself to forget about Krisis for a while, and it wasn’t long before her mind drifted to Jacqueline. It seemed fitting somehow that a terrible storm blew into town on the day of her memorial service. It was a perfect send off for the hell raiser.
She didn’t have that many memories of the good doctor, and the few she had were not good.
Jacqueline was the woman who had robbed her of two months of her life with Krisis by manipulating her and compelling her into leaving Bridgeport. The green-eyed witch was the first person Leigh had ever hated…
Jacqueline had also gotten the one thing Leigh wanted so desperately: Krisis’ child. A reality that still stung Leigh to the very core even after so many months, it was something she still felt cheated of; something she’d never told another soul.
But with all her flaws, Jacqueline did have some good in her…She did take care of her and nurse her back to health after Vladimir attacked her…
…and it was this memory, Leigh honored, as she stood staring outside her window, and watched the raging weather.

It just shows Leigh's character that she was able to come up with SOMETHING good about Jackie.
ReplyDeleteI loved the rain effects Val.
Finding the good in people who are anything but at times is really difficult, but I was happy that Leigh was able to see the one good thing that Jackie did for her.
ReplyDeleteLeigh shouldn't beat herself up about Krisis and Jackie's situation with having a child together,it will get her no where, other than being constantly depressed and obsessive about it. Of course I am sure I would react the same way, but what is done is done and she must begin to look past that...for her own well being.
Wow, How did you do the rain... I wanna know...
ReplyDeleteMan, I'm acting like a spoilt 5 year old
Holley, yeah, it's so like Leigh to see the good in people. I used the "BuyDebug" cheat to get the fog emitter for the rain. Thanks for reading.
ReplyDeleteNyGirl,
ReplyDeleteYeah, true, especially people like Jackie. But Leigh's right, Jackie did take care of her when she didn't have to.
I can understand her resentment and sadness over Lily, but she does need to realize Krisis loves her to death, and they will have kids of their own when the time is right.
Thanks for reading.
Leah,
ReplyDeleteI used the "BuyDebug" cheat to get the fog emitter, and I typed in the rain effects. There's a whole list of effects you can use with the fog emitter. Let me know if you need more clarity.
The rain effects were simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt really set the mood. Love Leigh's silent prayer..
Jacqueline just does a whole lot more evil than good.
Leigh must be really jealous of her... well i hope luck lends a hand~
Off to read more ~
