My Last Breath-Evanescence

Bridgeportpresent day...
“I don’t see why she couldn’t pick up Lily!” J.D. was still fuming when they pulled into Jacqueline’s driveway. The good doctor had just returned from a medical conference in Al Simhara and she'd insisted they should drop off Lily. She wasn't impressed when Krimsyn informed her Krisis had gone to Barnacle Bay to bring Leigh back home.

“We’re here now, so let’s not let her ruin our day okay?” Krimsyn pecked him quickly on the cheek before they jumped out of the car. She opened the backseat door and lifted Lily from her car seat.
“I’ll be back in a moment." She blew her fiancé a kiss and quickly made her way to the house. The front door was ajar, but she knocked anyway, and waited for Jacqueline or her butler, Steven, to let her in.

Minutes passed. No answer. And she rang the bell again. Slowly she pushed the door, and stood just inside the entrance hall.
“Jacqueline, we’re here to drop off Lily!” She yelled as loudly as she could, and stayed where she was. She had no desire to venture further than she already had. The sooner she dropped Lily off, the better. Jacqueline gave her the creeps and if it wasn’t for her niece, she would have no dealings with the vile witch. She still couldn’t believe Krisis was once involved with her.

“Help!” Steven’s faint cry for help came from the living room, and she ran inside, with Lily still in her arms.

She regretted it moments later as she stood in numb silence, unable to think or react, trying to process the scene before her. The first thing she noticed was the blood coagulating on the gray, wood floors. It seemed to be everywhere. She bit back her horrified scream when she saw Steven,  flat on his back, not too far from the fireplace, lying in large puddle of blood, a knife protruding from his chest.
The most gruesome sight though was Jacqueline. If she hadn’t seen the knife still stuck in Jacqueline’s heart, Krimsyn would have thought the doctor was sleeping.  She looked like an angel, resting peacefully on the dining table, her long blond hair flowing around her head like a halo.

“What’s taking you so long?” Her fiancé’s impatient voice snapped Krimsyn out of her trance, and she let out a blood curdling scream, Lily began to squirm and cry in her arms.

Krimsyn’s petrified cries were met by shocked silence as J.D. stood mutely beside her. He knew he should get her out of the house, get Lily as far away from the place as possible, but his legs were paralyzed by shock and fear.

He  felt like he was trapped in a nightmare, unable to wrap his head around the fact that the good doctor was dead.

Lily wailed again, forcing his attention back to his fiancée. He was about to usher them out of the house and call for help when he saw the note on the table next to the flowers. A chill settled in his heart when he read it's contents. What appeared to be random numbers at first quickly became his worst nightmare coming to life.

Dazedly, he stuffed the note in his pocket, wishing he could forget the numbers, wishing that horrible date was not firmly entrenched in his mind. The note could have been meant for anyone, a clue to the cops, or it might just have been the killer's signature. But J.D. knew, in his heart of hearts, who the note was meant for. The date of Vladimir's death said it all.

This carnage wasn’t a random act. Jacqueline and her butler were collateral damage in the grand scheme of things. The message was loud and clear...
Within moments Jacqueline’s neighbors were out in full force. The mansion was secured as all sorts of law enforcement agents descended on the crime scene. Krimsyn and J.D. couldn’t leave; they were star witnesses in the double murder case…
News of Dr. Jacqueline Steinberg’s death shook the nation; the vampire community was instantly thrown into utter despair and devastation, they’d lost one of their finest, Bridgeport’s first vampire doctor.
At the heart of town, in a dingy motel room, Beau welcomed the sad news with a lot of enthusiasm, switching between news stations, eager to see the results of his wrath, relishing his mastery. Now that he’d seen how creative he could get, he was suddenly eager to move things along.
“Why? Why did you kill Dr. Steinberg, and that poor man? How could you do such a thing?” Bianca asked from the doorway. When he said they were returning to Bridgeport to reclaim what was rightfully theirs, she’d had no idea he was planning such carnage.
“Dr. Bitch was just a warning shot, and sadly for her, fucking Krisis and then helping him to conceal my brother's death decided her fate in the end.” Beau replied, ignoring her question. “The Frosts haven’t seen anything yet.”

Jacqueline, as creative as he had been with her, was a rushed job. But with the ultimate trophy, he’d take his time and have some fun with her first. Better yet he’d make Krisis watch while he fucked his bitch right there on his fucking dining table before gutting her like a pig, and serving her for his last supper.
Bianca covered her mouth with her hand, trying to bite back her bewildered screams, as she slowly made her way back into the tiny bedroom. She plopped on the bed, and watched the room, along with her life, spin out of control, feeling as if the rug had been pulled from under her.
She felt sick to her stomach as she thought about the man she thought she knew. She couldn’t bear to spend one more minute in his company.

Lord she loved him, loved him dearly. But what he’d done, she couldn’t live with…She couldn’t turn a blind eye. She had to do something…

  2. Karima,

Yeah, it's a sad day for me :(
-Can you at least wait till tomorrow before you breakout the champagne. I'm in mourning here. LOL>
-She was supposed to be an excuse for Leigh to be jealous, and she ended being so much more. I didn't expect to take her so far into the story, and I'm gonna miss everyone's crazy comments about her.
-Thank you. Those pictures were such a bitch to shoot, the OMSPs and her faking passing out only to wake up the next second. I had to re-shoot that scene so many times :(
-Thanks for all your blood work. You did such an amazing job on the butler shots.

  3. I-I-I don't know what say now, or do...
I mean, yeah, Beau is a damn right sicko, can we have Vlad back please... I-I-I feel cold right now.

I mean, I wouldn't really kill Jacqueline that harshly, I wanted her to die a different way.

What am I going to do with my spare time now... Death by Gruesome scene was even on my list and should never be thought of... I wish Beau died...

I miss Jacqueline. She was a good bitch.

  6. Leah, *hugs*

Warnings at the start of the chapter are there for a reason.

Beau is evil, through and through, and this was just a warning. It will get a whole lot worse once he decided to carry out the rest of his plans.

  7. Qui,

LOL. I guess you're pleased with this chapter.

  8. I'm doing my happy dance, right here at work!
I hope it was painful and slow! I hope Beau daydreams about it often, and lets us enjoy it, too!

But...now that he's done his job, I hope Bianca is able to get the word it the crew and let them know what's coming, so no one we actually care about gets hurt! NOW it's getting scary for me!

That pose he left her in was completely off the hook - the flowers??? OMG. Vlad was nuts, but Beau is a whole new kind of evil!

I think I still have some dance in me, though...anda one, anda two...

  9. The intensity of that death scene leaves me speechless. Poor Lily, I hope she will have no memory of this day.
On the other hand...I know most of your readers hated that woman with a passion!

  10. Jill, glad this made your day. I hope it didn't shock you much :-/

LOL. By the way he draped her on the table, it must have been damn slow, and he must have enjoyed himself too.

But his job isn't finished yet, he's not leaving Bridgeport until he and Krisis are even. There's a lot riding on Bianca's actions. The decent thing to do would be for her to warn the Frosts. But we'll see. She may or she may just complicate matters by doing things she's not supposed to do, but she thinks are right :-/

The flowers were on the table when he killed her. He just thought it would add a nice touch. Beau does have the evil trait. LMAO.

    Glad you enjoyed this somewhat.

    Thanjks for reading.

  11. Seaweedy, I agree, it was intense. Luckily Lily is still small so chances of her remembering this are very slim.
Thanks for reading. Jackie's death though wasn't really about what the readers. It's instrumental in me wrapping up a storyline I left open in Season 1.
She had to die for certain things to come to light, and for justice to be served, and for a new beginning for those who deserve it.

    Thanks for reading.

  12. Holy crap! That murder scene was absolutely marvelous. I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by Beau doing something drastic, but just... wow. I wasn't expecting him to be linked to the murder at all. The thought crossed my mind, but I wasn't sure. Just wow, Val. You really outdid yourself here.

Although I will miss Jackie, she deserved it in the end. She was making their lives absolutely miserable and she was annoying when she was always hanging all over Krisis.

I think this dramatic death was the perfect way to say good bye to Jackie.

  13. ~ Awwww damn she's dead! I didn't want her to die...at least not yet...I needed some time to watch her suffer, and squirm and be driven mad watching the happy couple in love...sick? why yes I am! I'm sure it wasn't easy for you to have to do that...

~ Poor Lily! Though she didn't really need to have a mother like that to teach her how to be a queen bitch it still sucks for her.

~ And Beau he is one sick twisted man, which is understandable, he is out to seek vengeance for his brother's murder and make Krisis pay...but I think he really did him more of a favor here lol.

~ That was a little unexpected...though I knew something was coming sooner or later...I didn't think it would be sooner. The shots were amazing and the writing was vivid and intense...very moving...it provoked so many emotions!

  14. brookeshire, now I can breathe a huge sigh of relief. I was on tenterhooks the whole day, anticipating your reaction. I'm glad you found this prompt "wow"

Beau figures he has nothing left to lose, he's lost his career and his brother, so taking a little revenge, and sticking in his fingers in all the goriness can't make his life worse than it already is. He really has nothing left to lose, so why not throw in all his chips.

LOL @"she was annoying when she was always hanging all over Krisis." That's true. She was a PITA, but now that she's gone, things are about to spiral out of control.

That's exactly how I felt. She was a hell raiser throughout Season 2, so she deserved a dramatic ending.

    Thanks for reading.

  15. NyGirl,

You're sad she's dead? Aw, man, I didn't know you liked her so much. Nah, it wasn't easy at all/

-You're right, Lily shouldn't have to go through all that, but the actions of both her parents will be responsible for whatever damage she suffers.

-Beau is far more evil than his brother. And far more dangerous since he feels he has nothing else to lose. And you're right, he did Krisis a favor.

-Thanks for the lovely compliment on the shots and the writing. I try :)

  16. I had TOTALLY forgot about Beau!
As much as I wished death on Jackie, I kind of feel sorry for her now. And her poor butler, what did he do to deserve that?
Bianca is right to be scared now. Who knows what beau will do now.
I fear for Leigh and Lily, and ANYONE Krisis cares for at this point.

btw: I LOVED all the blood. You were worried about nothing! It was GREAT! Karima is AWESOME, huh?

  17. ...Wow, she died a horrible death....I liked the picture that you posted on DD better though. Poor Steven, he worked for the wrong vampire, why couldn't Beau sneak in and kill Jacqueline when Steven was sleeping or something....*pout* the butler was hot! Poor Lilly, she's not gonna have a momma!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. How could you forget Beau, Holley *shocked gasp*

When Beau does something, he tends to go a little overboard.

True, knowing her man is a killer should get thinking straight and she should jump out now while she has a chance.

Thanks. The blood puddles are all deco CC under "rugs" and Karima did such a brilliant job adding the blood on Steven's chest. Her work still amazes me. She's truly gifted in image editing.

    Thanks for reading.

  19. Pixx, you're almost caught up. First a huge, huge thank you, for giving Krisis a chance. I'm always excited to get new readers and it's good to see you back.

The horrible things she did not warrant such a horrible death. I love that picture too, but I didn't want to shock anyone. It seemed a little spooky :)

Steven was just collateral damage, and he did work for the wrong vampire.

She won't have a birth momma, but she will have a step mom who loves her to bits.
