Barnacle Bay, present day...
“He looks like a prince,” Leigh thought as she ran down the aisle towards Jesse waiting at the altar. She hated herself for what she was about to do. But Krisis was right, she couldn’t go through with the wedding, she couldn’t deceive all these people, especially Ruth. She felt bad she had allowed the lie to go this far, and if she had guts, she would stick around and help her friend deal with the aftermath. But she didn’t have guts, and she had an impatient man waiting outside, already revving the car’s engine, showing his displeasure.
She ignored everyone’s stares as she took Jesse aside.
“You know, I would do anything for you Jesse. Anything but this,” she began, and he nodded, a relieved look on his face.
“I know…I saw Krisis. We talked some, after he punched me of course. And he also went apeshit on Shaun when he tried to stop him from going into your room,” Jesse chuckled.
“He did? When?” Leigh asked incredulously. It must have happened when she was crying her eyes out in her room.
“Go to him Leigh, it’s okay. In fact I’m relieved we’re not going through with it. As much as I wanted to make Ruth happy and fulfill her wish, I felt so horrible for lying to her.”
“But I thought it’s what you wanted,” Leigh asked, wondering why they’d gone through with this charade if it wasn’t what Jesse had wanted.
“The money is what Shaun wanted, and I just wanted to make Ruth happy. But I couldn’t live with the lie. I can never be what they expect me to be, and I don’t owe them shit, including Ruth, if they can’t accept me for who I am, then screw them,” he kissed her gently on the cheek, and she turned her face quickly so their lips touched just briefly. They both burst into laughter, remembering Jesse’s stunts in college, and the times he’d tried to steal kisses from her.
“Do you want me stick around, while you tell everyone?” She asked softly, and Jesse firmly shook his head.
“Go, he’s waiting for you. He loves you Leigh. I don’t know why you thought he doesn’t…but he does,” Jesse frowned.
“Long story. Anyway, Krisis said you should call him, if you’re still serious about your design house. You two can discuss it, I’m not getting involved. I know it might feel kind of weird, but he’s willing to help you out,” Leigh replied, before walking away.
“Thanks. I’ll think about it,” Jesse smiled.
Just as she was about to reach the gate, she heard her friend call for everyone’s attention, heard him apologize and tell everyone the wedding was off, and then chaos ensued. She could make out Shaun’s angry hisses, and the relatives’ frenzied chatter and her heart broke for Jesse. They shouldn’t have let the lie go this far.
“Are you okay?” Krisis asked when she slid in the passenger seat.
“No…I’m not okay. My friend’s hurting because of the lie I helped build. His family will hate him again, because he hasn’t changed, he’s still bisexual, and he’ll probably be poor, and he won’t start his design house. So I’m not okay Krisis…I’m not,” she wailed, as she strapped on her seat belt.
“I’m sorry. And my offer still stands. I know how much he means to you, and if helping him will make you less sad, I’ll give him the money, to start his business.” He held her eyes, but she looked away, angry with him suddenly, angry with herself for the lie, angry with Jacqueline for robbing her of two months of her life.
She shook her head sadly; Krisis didn’t get that it wasn’t even about the money. It was about Jesse’s family not accepting him because he was different. He was willing to go through with the wedding because he’d wanted their approval so badly, especially his grandmother’s, willing to live a lie to make his family happy.
“Just drive,” she whispered, unable to take the heat from his eyes any longer.
OMG Leigh relax don't be mad at Krisis because he doesn't get it! We all see things differently :( Man...I kinda wanted to smack her there. But...I guess I can kind of understand. Krisis is focused on one side of the situation, sorta of like that asshole Shaun. I'd love to see her talk to Jackie though...what an explosion!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see them heading back home! She has a new baby to take care of soon (hers and Eloise's) and a house to prepare with Krisis! It's going to be great watching Jackie's head twist backwards with split pea soup pouring from her mouth when she learns of that little peach of a detail!!
"if they can’t accept me for who I am, then screw them" I love Jesse 10 times more now! I love his attitude and he seriously needs a new lover because a real boyfriend/husband/lover/girlfriend would not have cared so much about what Ruth had in her bank and made their loved one go through so much heart ache and pain for their OWN greed!
I really hope that Krisis and Leigh work this out though. It seems silly for that to be between them. He is making the effort to NOT kill her friend for almost taking what he has desired and wants! One punch? I mean really? He could have killed his ass lol.
I would have loved to see him throttle Shaun though! That guy needs a fucking nutpunch and a half!
I was hoping to see Ruth's reaction though, hopefully we will soon? I love the old lady :P
P.S. the guy next to the piano with the shades in the 4th to the last picture looks like my team lead at work NO FUCKING JOKE!

Looks like Jessie & Shaun will have some things to work out, though. If he would've supported Jessie, he could've gone up there & been joined for life, but after that reaction, I hope Jessie knows he's better off without him.
I hope Leigh doesn't spend too much time dwelling on this and reaches out to grab Krisis' hand on their long journey back. She'll have to realize, once she calms down, that he does realize what it was really about (for Jessie), but finding her, gtting her back safe and sound, and keeping her from making a big mistake into a bigger one were his priorities.

ReplyDeleteLeigh is more angry with herself, and when she's in that mood nothing will make it better. Not even Krisis. She just needs time to process things. They'll kiss and make up. You'll see.
Krisis is more concerned with Leigh. He understands what's going on, but he doesn't give a rat's ass about anybody else but Leigh. And for her, he'd help Jesse out, even though his first reaction was to kill the other man.
Aboout that...heading home, let's just say, they kinda, won't be getting there anytime soon :-/
True, she does have Lily to take of, and Blake who's coming soon.
Aw, really? Love Jesse? I'm glad. He does deserve a better partner, he got involved with Shaun knowing the type of person he is, he didn't suddenly go apeshit on him. He knew what he was getting himself into, and he accepted Shaun with all his flaws.This is the end of Jesse/Ruth/Shaun's storyline for now. Maybe in season 3 or in later prompts of this season they'll be back.
This was just a lover's tiff between Krisis and Leigh, they will work it out. LOL, you're right, Krisis is really trying to act his age, but if Jesse pushes him, he'll go haywire on him without a moment's doubt.
LOL. That would have been a sight to see. I don't think he enjoys fighting anyone other than Devon.

ReplyDelete-He was def upset things didn't go the way he wanted. And you're right, a normal partner would back up someone they love, but that's Shaun and Jesse's relationship. It works for them, and they understand each other. Jesse hasn't complained about Shaun's behavior, which means he's happy with the way things are between them.
-Krisis will help Jesse if he takes up his offer, and it wasn't just console Leigh.
-He did want to please everyone, but he went about it the wrong way.

ReplyDelete1. It was a sad prompt all around. But Krisis is the happiest in all this, and he doesn't mind Leigh biting his head off. He's happy to have her in his arms again, and he'll take her wrath any day. In fact he might like it too much since the makeup sex will be earth shattering
2. You're right, Devon and Eloise will be thrilled to have her back.
3. True, they can now focus on making music and creating magic on stage. About Jackie's pic as your wallpaper, you're evil :) LOL.
4. That remains to be seen. In the prompt Content, they both felt they'd created a life when they made love, so...there's a chance she may be.

True, they have a lot to deal with, and they could have gone up there and gotten married, but that would have given Ruth a heart attack and cut her six weeks short :)

Qui, Shaun is about money and ambition, but he also loves Jesse. Jesse on the other hand loves and understand his partner's drive and ambition.
ReplyDeleteShe did take it out on Krisis, but he didn't take it personally. She's just angry with herself the most,the stress of the past two months is only getting to her now.
Dev would be seriously shocked, but pleased too, at least I hope.
She's no match for Jackie. If they had to get into a pissing match, Jackie would win hands down, no questions asked there.
I've been in a situation like this where you take a lie too far and you can't go back. You're disappointed in yourself because even though you were doing it for all the right reasons, it was simply just wrong. I can see why Leigh is lashing out at everyone. She's like a rag doll. Jackie, Krisis, and Jesse have been dragging her around and she feels frustrated right now. That is inevitable though. I guess she feels failure. She failed to help her friend who has to face the aftermath of their lie all on his own.
ReplyDeleteI don't get why Krisis was so impatient. I know he loves her, but if he loved her enough, he would have let her stay a few more hours just to help Jesse explain to people. I'm glad she didn't go through with the wedding though. Even though it would have made Ruth and the rest of Jesse's family happy, it would all be a lie and lying just to keep someone happy is wrong. Especially when you're doing it to hide who you truly are.
This reminded me of the Proposal, with a twist of course! The fake wedding, the grandma... but I'm pretty sure they didn't have a sexy vampire in that movie. I can't wait to see the chaos that Beau creates. I'm sure it will be very entertaining. I guess Jackie's end is coming soon as well. Am I the only one who is going to miss her? Probably! She was horrible to Leigh, but it was her terrible qualities and schemes that made me sort of... love her.
I guess we will see how it unravels and I honestly can't wait. I hope this isn't the last we see of Jesse. I'm going to miss that kid. I thought him and Leigh were actually cute! *dodges the tomatoes thrown by all the Leigh and Krisis fans* Sorry for leaving such a lengthy comment, it's just that I really identified with this prompt. Can't wait for more Val. (:

I would have detached ever part on Shaun's face then reassembled it, it's his fault they are all in this mess, sure he loves Jesse but money isn't everything, it isn't worth making people lie for it...go out and earn your money the old fashioned way Shaun!

Okay okay I’m re-composing myself...
I was hating on Jesse for being so pushy about the wedding but looking at his situation now, I suppose he’s a bit of a victim. He just wants acceptance and his family is being a bunch of stingy close-minded creeps. I really think he should dump Shaun’s ass while he’s coming clean to everyone. He’s way too driven by money that he probably didn’t realise it could have hurt Jesse to go through such a plan.
I just hope the repercussions aren’t horrible for Jesse and that somehow his family has a change of heart... Speaking of family
Correct me if I’ve misinterpreted the last prompt but... will there be another baby on the way? :) I think Krisis and Leigh will make the ultimate power-parent couple (?? If such a term can be used). And no doubt if Krisis is going to put a ring on Leigh’s finger the wedding is going to be one grand affair. And Jackie’s eyes will burn out of their sockets. That would be a sight :P
Just want to point out something... to quote brookeshire: “I don't get why Krisis was so impatient. I know he loves her, but if he loved her enough, he would have let her stay a few more hours just to help Jesse explain to people.”
After two months of endless searching and so many close encounters I don’t blame him for being impatient. He can’t live without Leigh so any further time away from her, knowing she’s right within his reach, would be absolute torture for him. It’s also a good thing he put the pressure on her. I think if he let her take her time to iron out creases she would cave again and go through with the wedding and most likely he would’ve been too late to realise it was going on. (make sense? I don’t know...
Aaah I think I’m just way too excited about where this story is going that I’m probably not making any sense at all!)

I would have liked to see Krisis’ and Jesse’s encounter though... Not because I want to see Krisis knock out Jesse’s lights XD XD but just to see what went on behind the scenes. At least, after Jesse almost stole his woman, Krisis is willing to extend a helping hand. I just hope it was with good intention.
