Summary: Leigh wants Krisis to turn her...
________
Barnacle Bay, present day...
Leigh and Krisis were at the beach, not too far from Ruth’s house, taking a moonlit stroll along the shoreline.
They didn’t return to the Bridgeport like they’d planned…
Earlier that day, on their way to the airport, Krisis had suddenly realized he wasn’t ready to share Leigh with the rest of the world just yet, and she’d agreed to stay a few more days without much persuasion on his part.
They were staying at JD’s family’s castle on the edge of town. Krimsyn had agreed to look after Lily when he called to let them know they wouldn’t be home for another week.
“Turn around.” Krisis trailed his thumb on her cheek. He felt her tremble from his touch, and his groin hardened just thinking about their lovemaking back at Ruth’s house.
Leigh’s eyes widened with shock and anticipation. There was no way they were doing it there. Fair enough, this part of the beach was secluded, and there was little chance of getting caught, but...
“I just want to put this around your neck,” he explained, holding out a silver necklace, with a heart shaped pendant dangling from it.
He watched the disappointment dance on her face and he tried to hide his smile. Leigh had a one track mind sometimes, not that the thought of making love to her right there on the beach had not crossed his mind. But at that moment he had more pressing issues to deal with.
“Oh?” Leigh blushed, knowing full well he’d read her naughty thoughts. She obliged and gathered up her hair. An electrical shock ran through her body when his cool fingers made contact with her skin.
Would she ever tire of his kisses, and his embraces? Would she ever stop burning up at even the most innocent of his touches?
Suddenly she was filled with a deep yearning for him, and she wanted him right there on the sand. The thought of the waves slapping against their naked bodies thrilled her beyond reason and she moaned softly, leaning deeper into his hard chest and drinking in his scent. Krisis drove her delirious with love and lust; sometimes it was hard to separate the two since the ‘once clear’ lines were now so thoroughly blurred.
“What did I do to deserve this shiny piece of bling?” She asked softly, turning around to face him.
“No compulsion will work on you as long as you’re wearing that.” He tucked her in his embrace, explaining the reason for the necklace. “It used to be my grandmother’s. I got it for her for the same reason I’m giving it to you now. I don’t ever want to go through this again, Leigh, not knowing where you are or why you left. Please promise you’ll never take it off.”
“Okay, I promise,” Leigh agreed.
“Good. As long you have it on, no vampire can compel you. Not even me.” He murmured.
“I have a better idea, why don’t you turn me, that way you won’t have to worry about me, and I can fight all the bad vampires myself?” She smiled, grinding her hips against his, slowly eliciting the right reaction from him. But she was shocked and devastated when he roughly pushed her away from him.
“No!” He growled and walked away from her.
“What’s that about?” She ran after him.
“You can’t seduce me Leigh just to get something from me!” He spat out. The sparks of rage she saw in his eyes scared her and she backed away from him.
“Seduce you? I don’t understand?” She replied truthfully.
“That thing with your hips just before you asked me to turn you? What’s that about? You thought I’d just agree to it because I’m so hot for you?” He yelled, bunching his hands into angry fists.
Leigh had no idea when things went wrong. No clue as to why he was so angry with her. She wasn’t trying to seduce him into turning her. Her body rubbing up against him was an involuntary reaction on her part, evidence of the scary chemistry between them. It had nothing to do with her asking him to turn her.
She knew he was blowing things out of proportion, turning the tables on her because he didn’t have the balls to say no.
“I wasn’t seducing you, and I asked you to turn me because I want you to do it. But let me not be misunderstood Krisis, if you don’t turn me, I’ll ask JD or Krimsyn!” Her voice was a mere whisper and she was so sure it would' get lost in the light wind, get blown away and never reach its destination.
“You will do no such thing. I forbid you!” Krisis growled again. He’d obviously heard her.
“You are not my father, Krisis. I will do what I want, when I want. I don’t need your permission slip to be turned into a Vampire. I want you to do it, but if you don’t, I’ll find some other way,” Leigh informed him. Her voice betrayed none of the anger and hurt she felt.
“Why? Why do you want to give up being human? You think that’s what I want?!” Krisis wouldn’t ease up. Now that they’d started down this road they might as well go all the way. Get everything out in the open. He had no intention of turning. The desire was there. Just not the will though. It wouldn’t be right.
“I know it’s not what you want, but I can’t live without you,” Leigh mumbled, and started pacing away from him. This time he ran after her and gathered her in his arms.
“There is a way we can be together forever. It’s ten times better than me turning you. Marry me, and we’ll form a blood bond. We’ll have to exchange blood at least three times for it to work. That way we’ll be eternally bonded, you’ll sense my emotions, and you’ll be able to read my thoughts. Even when we are apart, we’ll still be joined,” he cried in her hair. But she quickly pulled out of his grasp and ran off.
She wanted to go all the way. If it wasn’t the full Monty, she wanted none of it.
“Don’t follow me, Krisis. I’m done!” She called over her shoulder, sensing he was about to sprint after her.
As much as he wanted to run after her and talk things through, he knew she was right, they both needed to calm down, and get a handle on their emotions. Reluctantly, he let her go, hoping she’d find her way back to him.
He had no idea how long he stood there, watching the waves, and the sky change to a light shade of pink. He was lost in his thoughts, trying to understand his aggressive reaction to her simple request. He knew it would come to this one day, Leigh asking to be turned, but he never expected it to be so soon.
He was still rooted on the spot when he looked up and saw her approach. She literally took his breath away, and he knew then and there, there was no way he was losing her again. Blood bond it is. He made the decision on the spot.
“Don’t say anything,” she silenced him when she saw he was about to speak. She’d had time to think, and she hadn’t changed her mind. She still wanted him to turn her. She was intrigued by the idea of a blood bond. But she didn’t see why he couldn’t just turn her.
“When I left Bridgeport a part of me died. The thought of you not loving me left such a huge hole in my heart, and it killed me. I kept hoping I’d wake up one day and the hole would be gone, but it was always there, every single day for two months. Until you found me. I’m so afraid I’ll never be enough for you, and you’ll tire of me because I’m worse than a child, always in need of constant protection and care. I’m so scared you’ll get bored of me, and go back to your kind,” she broke down and cried.
“I’d never tire of you Leigh and I would never leave you! Don’t you feel how much I love you?” Krisis cut her off, but Leigh wasn’t done with her piece.
“That’s what you say now. What about twenty years from now, when I’m almost fifty, will you still love me then, when I’m grey and wrinkly and my boobs are sagging, and I can’t walk straight?” She asked tearfully.
“Of course I’ll still love you Leigh. I’m in this for the long haul. Marry me,” he suggested.
“No.” She shook her head. She wasn’t backing down on this. “I’ll only marry you once you turn me.”
Two months without him had almost killed her, and she wanted to spend every waking moment with him, making memories. But she didn’t want to be a hindrance in his life, a constant source of worry for him with her human frailties.
“It’s not happening Leigh. I won’t do it.” He quickly lost his temper again.
“Why are you so averse to the idea of spending eternity with me?” She asked sadly.
“You know that’s not it!” He shot back at her.
“Then what is? Explain it to me, please, because I don’t understand why you won’t do it. You love me, don’t you?” Leigh screamed, tears streaming down her face, and that was his undoing. He hated seeing her cry, hated causing her so much pain.
He took long, deep breaths, before explaining his reasons for not wanting to turn her.
“I’ve always felt being a vampire was a curse, Leigh. Granted, it does have its benefits, the superhuman strength and abilities being the most obvious. I can handle the constant need for blood, the hunts, and the random prey, but I can never get my head around the fact that once I reached thirty that was it for me. I’m 216 years old, yet I look like a 30 year old.
In a few minutes, I have to head in doors because sunrise is moments away. I can’t enjoy simple pleasures humans take for granted, like the warmth of the sun on my skin or spending a day at the beach. Do you have any idea what I’d give to watch the sun rise without getting singed, and take Lily for day at the park so she can play with other kids?
And I’m afraid of losing you, Leigh. I want nothing more than to possess you completely, make you mine in every way possible, but that would be pure selfishness on my part. You have no idea how much you’d be giving up, no idea how much you’d miss once you’re no longer human.”
Leigh was speechless. She’d no idea of his fear of losing her. She pulled him closer and kissed him, letting go of her anger and hurt. The longer she thought about it, the more she liked the idea of a blood bond. But she had to try one more time.
“Okay, let’s form the blood bond, but three years from now, when I turn 30, you have to turn me. That way you won’t be thirty forever on your own. For the next three years, I’ll get used to the idea of not being human anymore, I’ll get Eloise and Devon used to the idea too, and you can teach me everything about being a Vampire,” she suggested. Krisis thought about it for a while before he spoke.
“And you’ll marry me?” He asked huskily, his eyes bright with hope.
“Yes, I’ll marry you, only when you’re ready to turn me of course,” she replied.
“Okay, future Mrs. Frost. I’ll turn you on your 30th birthday,” he agreed and kissed her thoroughly, until she was pleading with him to take her back to the Summers’ castle.
Krisis had no intention of turning her. She’d agreed to the blood bond, and that was enough for him. Three years was a long time to change her mind...

I understand Krisis' concern but at the same time, he just gave a a good reason why he should turn her. He said he watches other grown old and die but he is afraid of losing her. If he turns her he won't have to lose her!Dev is not going to be happy about that AT ALL!
ReplyDeleteQui, and that's exactly what she hung on to. The fact that he wouldn't have to watch her grow old and die. If he hadn't mentioned that, he probably would have won that argument. Devon will def not be pleased.
