________

Shang Simla, present day

Krisis thought he was finally home in Leigh’s arms. There was no other place he wanted to be. They’d agreed to carry on with their relationship, but now they had clear lines drawn. They were boyfriend and girlfriend, but Leigh thought they were too old for such terms. Krisis agreed, and he planned on rectifying their titles soon by asking her to marry him. He knew though there were only so many surprises her heart can take. Best not push things; let her get used to being his girlfriend, and the idea of being a step-mom first.

He was grateful for her support. She wasn’t angry with him for fathering a baby with Jacqueline, she’d explained. She was just disappointed with him for not trusting her with the truth. See, he needed her in his life. He was slowly learning to be human, and tell the truth. Something he did not have reason to do for a little over a decade.

All things considered, he was ecstatic with the way things had turned out. Coming to Shang Simla was one of the smartest decisions he’d ever made. He was using common sense already; one of Leigh’s guiding principles.
At the market, right at the center of the village, another 'happily ever after' was unfolding.
“Do you mind telling me what we’re doing in this blazing sun?” Krimsyn asked when J.D. dragged her outside, from one of the numerous Chinese tea cafes lining the market.
“I thought we could take a stroll, move away from prying eyes,” J. D. replied and drew her close to him.
He caressed her cheek tenderly, and gazed into her eyes.
Oh oh, this can’t be good. What did he do this time? A groupie? When? Where was I?
Insane, worrisome thoughts flew through her mind. J.D. was not the gentle and romantic type, so when he did something extraordinary, like pay her too much attention, she immediately knew something was wrong.
“Krimsyn?” J.D. began when he was sure he was ready and his hands were steady enough.
“Yes? You’re scaring me…What’s going on?” She asked, apprehension darkening her eyes. He was really acting out of character, all toungue-tied and shy suddenly.
He went down on his knee and she freaked.

“Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What is going on?” She shrieked, unable to contain her anxiety any longer.

“Remember how I always told you I’d stand in the blazing sun for hours to prove my love for you?”

“Yes…but you’re not standing, you’re kneeling,” Krimsyn stammered.
J.D. looked away for a second, thinking. Was he really ready for this?

Damn straight he was.

It had been a long time coming, and seeing Krisis fight his way back to Leigh’s life again and again, had inspired him. He knew he was eternally bonded to Krimsyn, but he wanted to make that bond official.
“Ewww! You called me out here to show me bugs? J.D. Summers you’ve really done it this time!” Krimsyn snapped as she glanced at his cupped hands. For a second she’d thought…
“Krimsyn Frost? Will you do me the honor of being my wife? Will you marry me?” JD revealed the black velvet box in his hands and it took her breath away…

“Oh my goodness! Oh my God! Yes…Yes I’ll be your wife. I’ll marry you right now, right here!” She screamed, jumping up and down, unable to hide her joy and excitement.
He’d finally done it…Just when she was losing hope. Not that she cared that much, after all they were eternally bonded, and they didn’t need shiny jewelery to prove their love for each other, didn’t need a priest to declare them officially bonded. But this…this gesture, dragging her out into the sunshine, knowing how lethal the sunrays were to both of them, especially at the peak of day…it left her speechless, with tears brimming in her eyes.
For once they both didn’t care about the paparazzi intruding on their special moments. Right then they felt like the only two people in the world.

“It’s only been in the family for a thousand years. It’s my grandmothers,” J.D. explained.
“It’s beautiful,” Krimsyn marveled at the ring. It brought tears to her eyes. She’d met his grandmother a few times, a tall, regal, dark statue of a woman, with the gentlest eyes she’d ever seen, especially on their kind.
“I love you Krimsyn Frost,” J.D. murmured against her mouth.

“I love you more, J.D. Summers. It took you a long time to get here,” she whispered back, smiling at the way he nibbled on her lower lip. He still made her toes curl,  even after so many years.

“It’s only a hundred years,” he laughed. “But you’re right. It did take me a long time, and I will spend the next thousand years making it up to you.”

“So what brought this on?” She wanted to know.
“Your brother I guess. I’ve never seen him work so hard to keep a woman in his life, and the thought of going through what he’s going through with Leigh, it scares me. I don’t ever want to work so hard to keep you Krimsyn, I want you with me always,” he replied.

“I’m not going anywhere. And how about we give Michaela a sibling?” She teased.

“Whoa! There are only so many giant steps I can take in one day. Besides, Michaela wouldn’t be too pleased with that.” He quickly squirmed his way out of baby making, but he did settle for a quick tumble in the hay.

  5. What a wonderful chapter! What great strides for both of these couples! Lets hope that they continue to take great strides...though of course Dr. Jekyll is still lingering in the back of my mind... so I know it won't be as easy for Krisis and Leigh as it will be for JD and Krymsin

  10. NyGirl, I love how you gave Jackie her new name, and it's stuck. LOL. No, it certainly won't be easy for Leigh and Krisis, not with Dr. Jekyll about to go apeshit on them.
