Krimsyn took Michaela's departure the
hardest. Soon after her daughter left, she
thought the arrangement was temporary and Michaela would be back in no time.
But after a week of absence and no real contact from Michaela except for a few brief
messages informing them she was fine, Krimsyn had to start facing the possibility
that her little girl might be gone for longer than she'd anticipated.
She tried to fight off her worry,
tried to keep her depression away, but in the end both proved to be much
stronger than her. For days all she did was stay in bed
and cry. She refused to go anywhere, refused to talk to anyone; she pretty much
refused to do anything really.
She stopped doing the things she loved
to do before Michaela left, she lost interest in her music, she also forfeited a few sponsorships in the process because she often failed to honor her
promotional appearances.
All she wanted was her baby girl.
At first J.D. was very patient with her.
He understood her pain too well, understood too that in a way, just like him, she was in
mourning.
But when he saw what her depression was
doing to her health, his stoic resolve to be the supportive partner crumbled, and
one night they got into their worst ever screaming match.
She accused him of not caring enough
about Michaela, and he in turn accused her of not caring enough about the baby she was
carrying.
Their argument went on for a while,
with more accusations and blame being thrown around, but it ended abruptly when
Krimsyn fainted.
Worried sick about Krimsyn, J.D.
called their obstetrician as soon as she came to.
Dr. Owami treated her for malnutrition and dehydration,
and she was very concerned about her shocking weight loss.
Krimsyn explained to the doctor she wasn't intentionally starving herself, she just didn't have an appetite.
Krimsyn explained to the doctor she wasn't intentionally starving herself, she just didn't have an appetite.
As much as the doctor sympathized with them over the situation with Michaela, her primary concern was their unborn child. She warned them if Krimsyn didn't pull
herself together, they'd lose the baby, the fetal size was considerably
smaller than it should be at this stage of the pregnancy, and his heartbeat
wasn't the strongest.
"I don't know what to do
anymore," J.D. told her soon after the doctor left. They were both trying to sleep, but failing miserably because the rift between them was growing
unbearably wider each day.
“I just want her back," Krimsyn
cried into her pillow.
J.D. heard the anguish in her voice, saw her shoulders
shake from her tears, but he couldn't bring himself to hold her. He was
very angry with her, angry that she'd risk losing another child.
"Please hold me," she looked
at him over her shoulder. The plea in her eyes was his undoing; even if he'd
wanted to say no, he couldn't have.
Wordlessly he moved closer to her and
wrapped his arms around her. His hands unconsciously drifted to her stomach, she
wasn't as big as she was when she was expecting Michaela.
Their son kicked his greeting when he
felt his touch. He rubbed her tummy in response. The kicking continued, growing
stronger by the minute and J.D. smiled
his first real smile in a long time.
"I do love him," Krimsyn
whispered as she placed her hand over his and together they felt their baby's somersaults.
"He's our second chance, to get
it right this time. We can't lose him," JD told her.
He thought she'd lose it again and
they'd get into another screaming match, but he was pleasantly surprised when
she turned around and caressed his face gently before her lips found his...
An hour later, J.D. rose from the bed.
Krimsyn was fast asleep and he was glad for that, she needed to rest after
their emotional evening. He needed to rest too, but sleep remained elusive to him.
He softly padded downstairs to the
living room, and grabbed his cell phone from the coffee table. He wanted to contact
Michaela and let her know her mother’s health was failing. But he didn’t want
it to seem like he was luring her back home, he understood her need for escape,
she was at a bad place and had to figure things out for herself.
For a long time he just sat there,
typing a text message to his daughter only to erase it. He must have done it a
couple of times, before he decided to fuck it all and video call her.
He got through to her immediately. She sounded sleepy, and J.D. wanted to kick himself for waking her up. Just because he
couldn’t sleep it didn’t mean the rest of the world couldn’t either.
“I’m sorry I woke you up, sweetheart,
go back to sleep.” He was prepared to hang up, but Michaela stopped him.
“No, I’m awake.” She told him, and J.D. knew it was an obvious
lie; she looked sleepy. “What’s going
on?”
“I missed you, and I was just checking
up on you, that’s all. Are you okay? Do you need anything?” He asked.
“I’m fine, still on the road, I’m in Monte Vista,
Dad, did you know this town exists, it reminds me of Champs Les Sims, I think
I’ll go there next to visit Grandpa and Grandma Summers!” Michaela sounded excited, and J.D. found
himself smiling at her enthusiasm. She was okay, exploring the world, discovering
herself, and it was all that mattered.
“How about you Dad, is everything okay?” Her question caught him off-guard He knew
what she was asking , and he really didn’t want to get into it with her. If
he told her the truth, she’d stop her healing and run back home.
“I’m great, everything’s great,” he
lied. He wasn’t great. Nothing was great. In fact it was all turning to shit,
fast. The sharks could smell the blood, and they were circling closer, any day
now he expected the guys in uniform to bang on his door and arrest him. He
dreaded that day, it kept him awake, and he prayed that when it happened, his
daughter and Krimsyn wouldn’t be around to witness it. It would just break
them.
“You know I can tell when you’re lying. Should
I be worried? Should I come home? I can you know, it was a little selfish of me
to take off like this, but I needed to do it. It doesn’t mean I can’t come home
if you need me,” Michaela sounded
worried now. And it took J.D. a few minutes to convince her he was okay; she
had nothing to worry about.
“Please promise me you’ll check in
more often. Your mom really misses you, and she needs to hear your voice and
make sure you’re okay. Please call her,” he changed the topic.
“Of course, I’ll call her in the morning. And
I’m sorry, I just get so lost in the town sometimes, there’s so much to see, so
much to explore. Did I tell you I’m staying at this little commune on the
outskirts of town, and the owners have a nice organic garden going on? I’ve
been taking care of it. Can you believe it? Me, taking care of a vegetable
patch?”
J.D. chuckled. No, he couldn’t believe
it. His daughter was always on the wild side, he always figured if she had to
take up a hobby it would be graffiti or street breakdancing Definitely not
gardening. But he was glad she had, it was obviously therapeutic.
“Anyway, its harvest time now, so whatever I
get from the garden, I sell at the farmer’s market, I have my own little stall
there, and the owners are kind enough to
split their profit with me, it’s not much, but it helps with every day things.” Michaela added.
“You know if you need money-” J.D.
started to say, but she cut him off.
“I know, Daddy, I still have funds in my
account, but I don’t need it, I do just fine with what I make at the market and
my tips from playing the guitar.”
“You still play?” The idea of her
playing the guitar made him very happy. Music was always something very precious to
her, and he’d worried since they’d let Joshua into that world when he worked
for O+ Records, it would have been one more
thing he’d tainted for her. He was glad to learn Joshua hadn’t destroyed that part of her.
“Of course I still play! Hayden thinks I’m as
good as mom. I’ll ask him or maybe Lowell to snap pics of me at the farmer’s
market and I’ll Instagram them to you guys.”
J.D. was happy he’d be seeing her pictures soon, he just didn’t know if he should like the camera men.
“Who are Hayden and Lowell?” The Papa
bear in him came out then.
“Oh just two brothers, they’re staying at the
commune, not sure for how long though, they’ve been drifting since their whole
family was wiped out by the plague in Moonlight Falls.”
J.D. remembered hearing about the
bubonic plague in the news; it was around the time they were on the After Dark tour. In fact it was right
about the same time Eloise was bitten.
“Are they shifters, those two boys?”
He asked.
“Yes, they are. But they are good guys, unlike
that meanie who bit Eloise.”
Michaela informed him.
“Okay, if they start any shit, let me
know…” Again she cut off his rant.
“I know, but I’m big girl. I can take care
of myself.”
“Okay, I love you sweetheart, and stay
out of trouble,” he told her as they were hanging up.
“I love you too. Tell mom I love her, I wish I
was there to feel her tummy.”
“She would have loved that,” J.D.
smiled at the thought.
“And Daddy how’s Cam?” She sounded sad now; all the chirpiness was
gone from her voice.
“He misses you.”
“I miss him too. I love him.”
“Maybe you should call him and tell
him that?” J.D. suggested.
“I will, soon. I’ll call everyone.”

The doctor pose on the bed was made by mypalsim for one of her stories, you can find it here. Thank you Brooke for sharing it.
Apologies:
Forgive me for totally abusing the smart phone interactions with J.D. I thought of just using one pic, but it would have been one long chunk of text, and chunky text makes me very nervous.
Updates: I know they've gotten really sporadic lately. But between work projects and my daughter's homework and school activities I just can't find the time to take screenshots and post. So, updates will be on a 'when I can basis', this applies to TF too. On the bright side, the writing on TF is complete, I just have to start taking screens for the final seven chapters. And I've begun mapping out the final chapters for Krisis, so hopefully both stories will be wrapped up sometime this year.
Thank You: to everyone who's stuck with me till now, even when I seem to be updating less and less, your unwavering support means stax to me.
Namaste!

I'm glad Mickey is doing well but it's hard to see how her leaving has affected everyone. If she knew, I'm sure she would come home but I get that JD didn't want to make her feel guilty. Hopefully her checking in more will help.
ReplyDeleteYes,she's doing great in MV, but her leaving has def affected everyone, especially her parents and Cam. Now that she's talked with JD she intends to keep her promise and check in more.
DeleteThanks for reading and commenting!
I'm glad JD and Krimsyn did finally get it back together. Another shouting match wasn't going to help. And as much as she misses Michaela, she has to take care of her baby.
ReplyDeleteCalling her was the best thing JD could do. Even though she has stuff to work out, leaving her family to worry wasn't really fair. So hopefully she'll follow through on calig her Mom the next day. And calling Cam. Poor Cam, he needs to know she still loves him.
That's true, screaming and yelling at each other won't solve anything.
DeleteI agree, about Mickey, she was irresponsible and selfish too for not checking in more often. But now that she's spoken to JD she intends to change that. Yes, Cam needs to hear that she still cares. Next update is actually that.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
Krimsyn makes me a little mad. I get that she's upset, but that doesn't mean she should just up and give up like that. It's selfish since she also has to worry about her unborn son. Mickey is a grown woman, and it's time to cut the umbilical cord. I'm being harsh to a certain extent because if Krimsyn were standing right in front of me I'd be giving her a healthy dose of tough love.
ReplyDeleteI admire J.D. for putting up with it as long as he did. It's acceptable to be upset for a few days, but to let it affect her health the way she did, uh uh. That's a no-no.
Okay, now that the little rant is over :), I'm happy Mickey is working things out although I'm worried about those brothers moving on Cam's woman. >.> <.< hehe.
Worried about J.D. and the cops. There's gotta be a way out of this.
Aw, don't be worried about large chunks of text. Never stops me LOL. The story is the most important part imho, and if there are pics then great. Otherwise, we made the pics in our head.
Anyway, J.D. was so darn cute sitting there looking at his phone that it made me smile so I can understand why you'd want to use more of them. ;)
Something about nice abs and jeans combo. *drool*
Don't worry about the sporadic updates either. Real life is most important. I hope things get less stressful for you.
um, WTH? END?! Krisis is gonna END?! huh? Nope. I did not just read that and you can't tell me I did. :P
I had to leave your comment for last, and you know why.
DeleteI think your reaction is perfectly understandable. I was getting angry myself when I wrote the chapter and read it over. But this is a classic Krimsyn reaction (going back to her history with JD when he was cop), she doesn't handle stress very and her reactions are always extreme. I agree, Mickey is (and wants to be treated like)a grown woman, Krimsyn needs to realize that she's not a little girl anymore, and she has a new baby she has to worry about.
Mickey's doing okay, she was right after all, she def needed some time away. LOL @ your suspicions, I think you might be right to feel that way, we'll see. *evil laugh*
At the moment, it doesn't look like there is a way out. The Clarkes are determined to get justice for their children.
I always envy you for just having a go at long texts. I get very, very anxious when it comes to my own writing, but now that I know you don't mind it so much, I'll be braver next time. LOL @ you drooling over J.D. I'm glad you enjoyed the view.
I hope so too, about RL.
Yeah, almost at the end. Initially I'd planned it for five volumes, but at the end of the last volume I realized I still had a few story-lines open. I'd like to wrap it up before July, but knowing me and my snail-mail updates, it might just end up being next year.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
Reading this before reading the next.
DeleteI don't like that I exploded like that. Chalk it up to good writing that got that reaction out of me. I guess I have almost no tolerance for dramatic pity-parties. I guess Krimsyn and I would make terrible friends lol.
Evil laugh?! You meanie! Now I don't know if I wanna read the next one cuz I might go all atomic explosion again.
Ooo. Of course the parents would want revenge/justice. For some reason, I forgot they had parents. O.o
If it makes you feel better, it was VERY hard to let that happen at first. It was when I'd go in and take pics first and then think up more in between the pics than originally planned and too lazy to go get pics to fill in the blanks. Hey! Look at it as you're not lazy! :)
J.D.'s hot. 'nuff said.
:( well, I guess the good thing about endings is that it leaves room for another beginning. Right? You Will wright something else in its place right? hm? :)
np

Hey, seriously, don't worry about exploding. It's good to let things off your chest.
DeleteWhen I wrote Krimsyn's piece I didn't want it to come across as a pity-party, I merely wanted to show someone who doesn't have any coping skills. I can see how it would come across as a pity-party though. She's really not feeling sorry for herself, she just wants her daughter home, and she wishes all the stuff with Joshua never happened, and of course it all boils back to their mistakes as parents and things they should have/could have done differently.
Aw, the next update isn't all that bad...I think.
LOL. Bad, bad Brooke, everyone has parents.
I'll try longer texts and less pics. But the thought alone just scares me.
Shhh, he shouldn't hear you say that.
I'd love to write something else, I thought of doing mini serials with the children, or maybe post the Nano novel I was working on. But the idea of taking screenshots, posing, creating sets, it's all exhausting. So I will give you a tentative 'yes'
Awww this was a great update :) Daddy and Daughter interaction was so sweet but Jd has to understand Mickey needs time. However Mickey needs to let Cam know that she is ok and how she feels.
ReplyDeleteKrimsyn needs to keep it together for her baby but I can understand her worry over her daughter and as long as Mickey rings her Mum then Krimsyn will be ok.
Again loved it :)
Thanks! You are much too nice for saying that.
DeleteI had fun writing their interaction, and I had no idea how it was going to turn our. I'm glad you found it enjoyable. Very true, she does need to get in touch with everyone more often, especially her mom and Cam.
After this little scare, she has no choice but to pull herself together.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
These two are going through a lot! Wow! Especially for Krimsyn, carrying the baby and losing Michaela I'm sure it's been really hard for her...Michaela should probably get in touch with people yeah, I hope she's able to!
ReplyDeleteAlso I agree with what you did with the texting pics heh. I too try to avoid long walls of texts :P
Yeah, it has been very hard on Krimsyn. Michaela is acting irresponsibly and she has no real excuse on why she's not keeping in touch more often, but if she knew how her actions were affection everyone, she would def reach out more often.
DeleteThanks for reading and commenting!
Aww, there's so much weighing everybody down right now. Hopefully Mickey will come home soon and turn things around so everyone can be happy again! I'm excited to see the little J.D. inside Krimsyn's belly so I hope she can manage to get herself out of that depression. I hate to see everyone so upset all the time :(
ReplyDeleteThat's true, a lot is going on right now and it is bringing everyone down, especially Syn and J.D.
DeleteMe too, I'm excited for the little one. I think the scare she had was a good wake up call for her, she will have to pull herself together if she doesn't want to lose the baby. Aw, and I hate to see that sad smiley, I promise they won't be sad for long, sunny skies ahead.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
Took me a week or so, but I've caught up :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this story, and when I finished it last night I was so sad that there wasn't more. That's the problem with coming to a story late: you read over 200 chapters whenever you want, and then the last episode is a major cliffy and you can't read more! Argh!
I actually cried at Krisis and Leigh's vows at their wedding, and in the few chapters where Leigh was dead in Krisis' dreams, I was bawling my eyes out in bed. I kinda *knew* she couldn't be dead (the headline pic was a bit of a giveaway) but the possibility that she could be nearly killed me.
So, I want to thank you for this romantic emotional rollercoaster, which can be pretty funny at times, and I look forward to the next chapter (and dread the eventual end, but all good things come to an end.).
Thank you for sharing your talent with us :)
(Also, I laughed like a psycho when Carmen died. HAH! Bitch deserved it.)
Thanks for taking an interest in Krisis and getting caught up.
Delete*blushes* That's so sweet of you to say that. Now I'm tongue tied and I don't know what to say. *blushes again*
Aw, you're such a softie for crying like that. I don't blame you though, I also cry when I read other's updates. I think for people catching up on Krisis, the banner is a big give away that Leigh isn't dead, so maybe I should do something about that *note to self, change banner*
Really, I should be thanking you for reading Krisis. I know how hard it can be to get caught up so I really appreciate the time you took to read all the chapters.
It was very hard for me to let go of Carmen since I grew fond of her, but from the time I introduced her I knew there would be no other ending for her.
Again, thanks for reading and commenting!
I hadn't thought of how Mickey leaving would effect Krimsyn and J.D.! They are so sad and feeling guilty. That's why they are lashing out at each other. I'm glad that when Krymsyn reached out J.D. didn't keep the fight going but he comforted her and himself too!
ReplyDeleteTheir home is so beautiful, Val.
Mickey sounds like she is feeling somewhat happy again. I think she really needed to get away alone to heal. Maybe soon she will be ready to come back home. I hope that she does increase her contact with her parents while she is away. They need to know that she is okay.
What do you mean the end of Krisis!!!
I don't think Mickey realized the impact her departure would have on everyone, especially her parents. They have a lot to deal with, the Clarke investigation, plus Michaela leaving, it's all too much for them. They really need each other right now, and fighting won't solve a thing.
DeleteThank you, I had fun doing it up.
Mickey is on the way to reovery, she's def doing much better than she was when we last saw her. After her phone call with J.D., she'll try harder to keep in touch more often.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
I had so much to say....but then I took a good look at J.D., is it just me or is this dude getting sexier?
ReplyDeleteAnd for the record, I am totally this new baby's godmother, I have a thing for baby boys.
Like I said, this would have been so much longer if I wasn't distracted by J.D....goddamn! Look at him. Something's different, and I don't mean the way he's wearing his hair....I'll figure it out.
Exquisite :)
ReplyDeleteNow, JD is right to be angry with Krimsyn. She really really needs to get over it. Is her missing Michaela so much because she feels that she failed Michaela? I sort of understand why Michaela left. She has always been on the outside, in my opinion. When she needed her parents, they were too caught up in themselves. When she needed her family, they were also too caught up in their own traumas and issues. She had such unwavering support in Cameron though, and his loss of her I feel the most sympathy for. I really hope that she comes back soon and makes things better for him. I guess it makes sense that she needed to experience life. She has always been the wealthy child of famous parents and never really experienced living outside of that circle. It is good that she can meet others and not be in a celebrity's brat rut :) ... Fantastic pictures... I especially like the one with JD on the bed, sitting, with his back to the camera.
