202. A Way Out

Warning: language

Bridgeport, present day...
For a long time Beau just sat there with his head in his hands, sobbing and crying. He never cared much for Carmen; she was just a pawn in his grand plan to destroy Krisis, but he didn’t want her to die.
“It was an accident,” he told himself over and over. “The cops will believe you. Do the right thing. Call them.”

“Yeah right, like they’ll believe you with your record!” A small voice in his head taunted him.
“Fuck!” Beau growled as he got up from the floor and began pacing the room.

He could get rid of Carmen’s body and make it look like she left Bridgeport for good. But that kind of scheme would require a lot of planning, and he didn’t have a lot of time on his hands, he and Bianca were leaving Bridgeport that night.
“Fuck this!” He cussed again. If he didn’t do anything, his life was over. Since the new laws were imposed earlier in the year killing a human was now punishable by death. There was no way out. No way he could evade this. He was screwed.
“See what happens when you try to do the right thing!” He raged at the empty room, thinking he should have never let Bianca change his mind about Krisis. He should have stuck to his plan. Carmen would still be alive.
“Joshua!” A glimmer of hope roared to life when he suddenly thought of the young Vampire.
“Maybe there’s a way you can get away with this,” Beau murmured as he reached for Carmen’s cell phone on the coffee table and browsed through her phone book and call records.

He was happy to see she still had Joshua’s number and it was the second most dialed number on her log, his was the first. He deleted it, along with all their text correspondence and any communication tying them together.
Next he went through her laptop and did the same, deleting everything from her inbox and then permanently from her recycling bin.
He then sent Joshua a brief text message from Carmen’s phone, asking him to come over.

On his way out, he picked up the knife Carmen had used on him from the floor not too far from her outstretched hand, and stuffed it inside his jacket.
Beau stayed in his car parked across Carmen’s apartment and waited for Joshua. It took almost two hours for the young Vampire to show up. And when Beau was certain he was inside Carmen’s flat, he pulled out his cell phone and blocked his number on outgoing calls before he placed a 911 call.
The operator answered promptly, “911. What’s your emergency?”

“My neighbors are fighting. I’m scared he’s going to kill her. They’ve fought in the past, but nothing like this. Please hurry!” Beau placed his hand over the receiver to muffle his voice.

The operator asked for the address, which he gladly gave. He quickly hung up before she could question him further.
The police were there in exactly seven minutes. And Beau would have given anything to be a fly on the wall when they walked into Carmen’s apartment and found Joshua trying his damnedest to resuscitate a lifeless Carmen.

He stuck around for some time, watching the drama unfold from the safety of his car. Carmen’s apartment was cordoned off with the crime scene tape. And within moments the place was buzzing with crime scene investigators.
“Sorry, buddy,” Beau mumbled as he drove off. He’d really wanted to give Joshua a fresh start with the Frosts, and he’d really wanted to change, for Bianca’s sake. But it was obvious that being good would never be part of his genetic makeup. Not in a million years…

      *hugs*

I wouldn't expect anything else from Beau. He's all about self-preservation.

      Thanks for reading.

  2. Beau has sunk to a new low... as much of a crazy cocktail Carmen and Joshua were, i still hate to see this happen to both of them!

    1. Kelly,

That's true, it is a new low, even for Beau, but his actions aren't much of a shock to me, after all he is self-serving, and his goal right from the start when he reeled Joshua and Carmen in his scheme was to get them to do all the dirty work, and now that he's changed his mind, he really has no use for them. Carmen's death was a tragic accident that could have been avoided.

      Thanks for reading.

  3. Very clever, Beau! I look forward to seeing if he gets away with his devious plan, or if it comes back on him later.
    Great chapter, Val!

  4. LOL...way to go Beau!!!!! I shouldn't be laughing at Josh's untimely misfortune right now but I am laughing my ass off!!!! Even though I am certain this will come back to bite him in the ass, I am saying KUDOS to Beau.

That was great. I'm sure Josh will squeal because that seems like the kind of guy he is, but maybe not because then that would reveal his own agenda with Mickey. But for the time being he is out of their hair.

CAM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY MAN!!!!!!!! This is the break you and Mickey needed. That is unless you plan to be mean Val and give Mickey some sort of conscience about her fledgling being locked up or some craziness like that. I'm hoping not!!! She's been wanting him gone so maybe this will be a relief for her.

    1. jazen,

I can just picture you laughing at Josh. It was quick thinking on Beau's part, and you're right it may just come back to bite him in the ass.

The next update will reveal more on Josh's character, but you're spot on about a lot of it.

No, Mickey would love to be rid of Josh, but there's a 99.9% chance that Joshua will walk, after all he didn't kill Carmen, so as much as the Frost would love to see the back of Josh, the law is not in their hands.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

    1. I think that is why Beau set up Josh for the death. His strange way of trying to make up for some of his earler bad behavor. That is getting Josh out of peoples lives. I think though that somehow this will back fire. In my game, Beau is one of my favorite sims, so I'm hoping the best for him. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad his plans in this story did not work out, because I really like Krisis and his family.

    2. Tammie,

That could be another way of looking at Beau's actions, but I think it was really self-preservation than anything else, when it boils down to it, he'll always try to save himself first before helping others. In my story too he's one of my fav characters, I love him with all his diabolical moves and schemes, and to be honest I don't think he's a wholly bad person, it's just the circumstances he finds himself in sometimes that force his hand.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

    3. Karima,
LOL, I think he was really thinking about saving himself.
-And no, I don't think you're bad, it's really hard to feel sorry for a predator.
-Beau does appreciate this new lease on life, more than he'll ever show I suppose, and I think a lot of his actions for framing Joshua were motivated by his desire to be reunited with his son and give normal family life a shot.

      Thanks for reading.

  6. I hope this works. I hope Joshua is framed perfectly and sent away for a long time. I also worry a bit about how it will look for K-Infinity since he was an employee (I think). That worries me some, but overall, he really is taking the threat away from Krisis and his family. I hope Joshua didn't try to turn her. I really really hope not.

    1. Fae,

I can understand why you'd want Beau's elaborate scheme to work against Joshua, he has caused a lot of unneccessary stress for the Frosts. He wasn't officially an employee of O+ Records, so his actions will not have that much of an impact on the band. And I can safely confirm that he didn't try and turn Carmen. She's really gone.

      Thanks for reading.

  7. I've not had an internet connecting fora few days, but trust me one of the first things I opened was Krisis and I AM VERY PLEASED THAT I DID I MEAN WOWWOWOWOW.

I am very pleased with this turn of event. Josh gets put in jail is a great turn, carmen dies? I'm not sorry to say im VERY pleased. Beau decides to forget all about this whole stupid revenge plan? IT DOES NOT GET BETTER.

    However.

I'm worried. This is big stuff but we're so far from the end of the season im freaking about what madness will occur next! Seriously seriously, this be cray. I'm happy that beau and bianca and baby Vlad are all gonna be together though, honestly that's what I've wanted for them for ages... But I have a creeping feeling that this is gonna come back to BITE EVERYBODY IN THE BUTT. Damn i mean, DAMN!

Beau should have left that freaking knife the idiot. -_- Jeez, it only had her fingerprints on it - wait his blood, never mind. Argh, i dunno i just feel like he made some dumb move somewhere in that...

He can't just try and be a good person and call the popo can he? and THEN go on to turn over a new leaf with baba and bianca. He's not gonna get away with this... And to be honest I kind of want him to, just for Vlad. VLAD DOESN'T DESERVE ANY OF THIS CRAP. I'm deeply upset for baby.

But no, beau brought this on himself, he deserves whats coming.. He's still kind of a sucky human being.

Ah Val, everything is perfect and im scared! I feel like most of the lose ends have been tied up and for ONCE everything might be good.... But this nagging fear you know?

    Don't tell me...

Josh turned her into a vampire?

MY. BIGGEST. FEAR. HERE. I'm kinda freaking just because everything seems good for the good cookies here. Beau can deal with his jam, I just want everything to be good for Krisis and co. :I

I have so many feels... All over this story, just emotions. MUST READ NEXT CHAPTER!!

    1. Eni,

*giant hugs* I was wondering where you were. I'm so glad your net is back on.

LMAO. SOmehow I knew you'd be happy with this update, you've been wanting to see Josh gone for a very long time. And yes, as much Beau still wants to get even with Krisis he does realize that he owes the man a lot.

And you have every reason to be worried, a lot can still change, a lot can happen, so I wouldn't celebrate just yet.

The knife has his blood, so he had to take it, but you're right, tampering with a crime scene and trying to conceal a murder often leaves more clues than would like.

Beau tried to be a good person, for Bianca and Vlad's sake, but the moment he did, things went wrong and he reached the conclusion that maybe he's not meant to be good. And I'm with you on Vlad, he deserves a stable family environment, and I think Beau running away from jail time is trying to give his son just that/

And no, he didn't turn Carmen. She's as dead as person can get.

And yeah, I feel you about Krisis and his family, the need less drama.

Next chapter will be up later today, latest tomorrow.

Thanks for reading and commenting, I always enjoy reading your feedback.

    1. CaramelChick4u,

Yeah, I know what you mean, it was wrong of Beau to let someone take blame for his actions, but I didn't expect any different from him. I feel your joy over Carmen, if she'd had her way, she could have caused a lot damage for the Frosts. Thank you, I had a lot of fun with the photoshoots, and I'm happy you think they were amazing. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.

  9. Well planned on Beau's part! I think that in a way, Beau played the part of "carma" and Joshua finally ensnared himself in it. Granted, he is innocent in Carmen's death, but we all know that's just about the only thing he's innocent of. Great chapter Val.

    1. QK,

Yeah, that's another way of looking at this story arc. But I wouldn't entirely peg this as Joshua's departure. There's a lot in his favor, so he might just walk away from it all.

      Thanks for reading.

  10. Oh my! Wow. From one bad guy to another. It really WASN'T his fault, but Beau was right, they'd never believe him. I wonder if he really covered all his footsteps, trails, I can't think of what I"m trying to say arg.

That said, the place for Joshua is in jail. I guess it's good it didn't happen after HE committed an actual crime. *shudders*

I guess Carmen is not only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead.

    1. LOL, I like it when you can't think of what you're trying to say. But yeah, the next update should show just how well Beau's covered his tracks if at all.

Joshua hasn't committed a crime, not in the truest sense, so I'm not entirely sure if jail is the right place for him.

      Thanks for reading.

  11. Beau better hope there is no such thing as Karma, because he's built up a lot of bad karma! Wow and he continues to pile onto it, I hope he doesn't get away with it. Joshua may be crazy, but Beau is responsible for like 80% of all of this.

    1. I like the way you described Beau's actions. He was quite devious, but as far as Josh goes, I don't know what else he can do, he doesn't really have any power to make things work in his favor. Thanks for commenting.

  14. I think he's just saved himself so he could make it up to Bianca and Vlad. I understand, I'm in the same boat as you, I'm rooting for him to get away with it.

  15. This seems more like the Beau I know. I really didn't think he could be good forever. But what does this mean for Josh? Hmm..

  16. I don't like Beau, as a matter of fact i despise him, but i despise Josh more and hopefully he will be getting his. I hope in his attempts to clear himself he lets everything out, what he's really doing..everything.
Makes me sad that Beau decided being good was too much, i think he would have been good at it/nod...edenz~

  17. Beau framed Joshua! I didn't see that coming, but I guess I'm not really surprised! Of course he wouldn't want to take the blame for killing Carmen himself.
