Bridgeport, present day“So this is it then,” Beau growled as way of greeting when he limped into her flat.
Carmen ignored him.
It was week since Bianca and Vladimir’s car accident. A week since her partner in crime suggested she should leave Bridgeport and forget Krisis. But she couldn’t. No, she’d spent a year of her life planning, plotting, scheming to get the love of her life, she wasn’t about to give up now.
She was determined to be with Krisis. But she couldn’t pull it off without Beau. She needed him and she had to try to convince him to change his mind about the truce. And that was the real reason for the meeting, not to bid him farewell like she’d said on the phone to get him to come over.
“Look, just because Krisis saved Vladimir and Bianca, it doesn’t mean we can’t carry on with our plan. You promised he’d be mine. You told me if I killed Leigh I can have him,” Carmen reminded him.
Beau laughed in her face. It wasn’t an amused laugh. It was a scornful sound, and it pretty much summed up his low opinion of her. And it pissed her off.
“You owe me!” She hissed at him.
“I owe you shit, Carmen!” Beau replied as he quickened his pace towards the front door.
Carmen stayed hot on his heels and grabbed his arm to stop him from leaving, “You can’t leave me like this. I love Krisis. And I know he can love me too if that Leigh was out of the picture. Please you have to help me.”
Beau looked like he was considering her pleas, but then he shook his head, smashing her heart to pieces with his answer. “Find yourself another rock star. Krisis will never love you. He never did! You were just a pawn, a way for me to get what I wanted.”
“That’s not true,” Carmen whispered, tears brimming in her eyes.
“Even if it’s not true, I still can’t help you. Krisis came through for me. If it wasn’t for him Vlad would have died in that car since he can’t port any more. And for that I promised Bianca I’d leave him alone. How many times must I explain this to you?” Beau demanded as he walked towards the door.
“But you hate him. He left you for dead, if it wasn't for those hobos you would have died outside The Grind,” she reminded him even though she could see she was fighting a losing battle.
“Yes, I hate him and I do want to see him suffer. But it doesn't change the fact that I owe him everything too, he saved my son’s life,” Beau replied as he walked away.
He was almost at the door when Carmen reached for the knife on the counter. She couldn’t let him leave, and she’d hold him hostage if she had to.
“No, you are not going anywhere!” She lunged for him, but Beau’s reflexes were much quicker than hers.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” He demanded as he tried to wrestle the knife from her. She bit his hand, and blindly slashed away at anything she could find. Somehow she managed to scrape his face with the sharp blade.
“You bitch!” Beau screamed as he pushed her off.
Carmen swayed on her feet for a brief second before she stumbled backwards. A sickening sound echoed in the room when her head hit the sharp corner of the dining table and fell to the floor.
“Carmen?” Beau whispered as he watched the blood puddle spread beneath her head.
“No,” he moaned softly as he knelt beside her.
He didn’t bother to check for a pulse. The vacant expression in her eyes, told him she's gone…

Bad Leah, rejoicing at someone's misfortune. Bad girl! Thanks for reading.
ReplyDeleteOh! Oh this is perfect. Made my day much brighter. Wow.
ReplyDeletebut I hope beyond hope that Joshua doesn't somehow come in.... I can't imagine her as a vampire... and that leaves only Joshua to make a mess of things, but he isn't after Krisis or Leigh.... puzzles and more puzzles.... I love it.
I am so jealous of your ability to just keep us on our toes time and time again.
I know I am on mine, a happy dance and suspense.
Fae,
DeleteYay. I'm so happy this brightened your day. I was a little anxious about posting this update.
Thinking back to Ariel's words to her daddy a few chapters back, I wouldn't entirely rule out the idea of Joshua coming in somehow. Like you I just can't see Leigh being a vampire.
I'm glad I can still keep you entertained and on your toes after so many seasons, it means a lot to me hearing that from you considering how great you are with suspense and mystery.
Thanks so much for all your feedback.
Finally, about time she died :) Awesome so happy.
ReplyDeleteLoved it :)
Poor Carmen, it seems no one will miss her. Thanks for reading!
DeleteFinallyyyy she is dead!
ReplyDeleteYes, she's dead. Thanks for reading!
DeleteWell, can't say I will miss her. It was fun so long it lasted. I hope for Beau he can cover this up.Disaster follows him where every he goes. Poor guy, I almost feel sorry for him. :P
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention cover ups. Are you psychic or what? Thanks for reading!
DeleteYou know I am ;-)
DeleteOk so Carmen is dead but that still leaves Josh to deal with. Beau better get out and get gone quickly. He has had enough trouble. I'm not sure how the vamp thing works but if she's already dead (that is if she truly is dead and not just dying) then Josh wouldn't be able to change her right? If that is the case, one problem down, one more to go.
ReplyDeleteSo Val...when are you knocking off Josh??? ***impatiently taps foot****
LOL @ Beau getting out and gone quickly. It's all trouble he brought on himself. And no, she is dead, and even if she was just dying I don't think Josh would want to change her, considering how much work it is to look after a fledgling.
DeleteLMAO, no, I can't knock off Josh. I just love him too much. No, just kidding. But he still has a long lifespan.
Thanks for reading.
No more Beau? And the psycho died? Wow! Sounds like all is peaceful for a while! Seems like only Joshua remains... Excellent chapter. :-)
ReplyDeleteQK,
DeleteYeahm Joshua does seem to be the last man standing. Thanks for reading.
I don't believe Carmen is dead! I am so happy!!! I know it's bad of me, but I am so happy!!! I have the feeling that Leigh is still not safe though. Arial's vision might still come true.
ReplyDeletePsycho Joshua is still out there. He hasn't given up on being with Michaela and I bet he doesn't care who gets hurt!
Another great chapter! This story just keeps getting better and better!
Daisies,
DeleteYes, it's a sad day in Bridgeport, well at least for me. She's really gone. LOL, I understand your happiness, Carmen did bring a dark cloud to Volume 5, and I wouldn't entirely rule out Ariel's vision coming true.
You are so right about Josh, he's determined to get what he's set his heart on.
Thanks so much for reading, and I'm so happy the story is still entertaining for you.
Oh my. Vey stupid, Carmen, to go after a vampire like that.
ReplyDeleteNo one is going to believe Beau didn't kill her.
Um, is there a possibility that she's not quite dead (monty python ref here) n he winds up turning her?
Great shots too btw. :-)
Indeed, it was very stupid of her to go after Beau, but in her defense she was highly emotional, and people act irrationally when they don't get what was promised to them.
DeleteVery true, with his track record, I don't see how anyone will believe otherwise.
No, no chance. She's really dead.
Thank you, and it was all in game interactions. Thanks for reading.
Oh no this is not good at all. I loved the fighting but did not think it was going to end like this. You had me on the end of my sit. Great job as always.
ReplyDeleteMichele,
DeleteI think that's what makes Carmen's death so tragic for me, it was an accident, had they both cooled down, things might have turned out differently.
Thanks for reading.
So, Beau survived after all! I love that he does have some sense of honor, like in the last chapter when he refused to rat out his accomplices even though Krisis had a gun to him, and the way he's dropped his vendetta against Krisis, even though he still hates him and was almost killed by him, because he saved his son.
ReplyDeleteCarmen is truly a nutcase. But we knew that, lol, so I wasn't surprised she turned on Beau. And I wonder if this is the last we'll see of her, or if Josh will be alone now to create havoc with Krisis' family.
Great chapter, Val!
Melissa,
DeleteYeah, he did survive, thanks to passerby hobos. Beau has a very strong sense of honor, and he's fiercely loyal too. Probably one of the reasons why he can't let go of the idea of avenging his brother's death.
Carmen was emotional and highly disturbed and her death was a senseless accident, and you're right, knowing the intensity of her obsession with Krisis, she was bound to turn on Beau if she didn't have her way.
Thanks so much for your feedback.
Lulz...she deserved that.
ReplyDeleteI mean really, if I attack a lion with a knife and don't live to tell about it then it's my own fault! She attacks a vampire sooooo....yeah, that's her own fault!
She's crazy, but not crazy like a fox!
Aeon,
DeleteI don't know about deserving that. It was a tragic accident, but going after Beau was def not the smartest of ideas.
Ah man, and I thought she's crazy like a fox! Still love that simile by the way.
Thanks for reading.
Holy moly. Well these last couple of updates have taken a turn! In the matter of two chapters, two of the three psychos out to kiss Krisis and Leigh are out of the picture! Is it weird that I'm a little sad to see Carmen go? I think I might miss that crazy bitch! I knew she'd always go out fighting though. I'm still wondering how this new Beau is going to turn out... is he done for good? After plotting and scheming for so long can he finally just turn his back on all that for good? Maybe Vlad will have a real family after all.
ReplyDeleteNow to see what Josh does... He was always my least favorite, maybe because of how easily he could push himself into Krisis and Leigh's life. Carmen had to fight day and night for Krisis, and she never ended up even getting anything that she was promised. Now Josh on the other hand, he could just guilt Micky into letting him stay. He got to creep around for quite some time and had very little punishment for his actions. I hope some beautiful girl can catch Josh's attention someday. He wouldn't be such a freak if he weren't so obsessed with Micky.
lolol *kill not kiss...
DeleteKristen
Delete*hugs*, it's always good to hear from you.
Yes, a lot's happened over the last two chapters, and a whole lot more is about to happen, so sit tight we are very close to the end.
I understand exactly what you mean about Carmen, letting her go was a tough decision even though I knew right from the start how her story would end, still seeing her die was a little sad for me.
And I like that you're thinking about this new Beau, it's very hard for people to change their ways overnight, but then again he does owe Krisis his life. So I'd say he's willing to change and let things go, but it doesn't mean that his feelings for Krisis have changed.
It does seem like Josh's had it easy so far, and since he's tied to Michaela by blood, I don't see him getting out of her life anytime soon, whether the Frosts/Summers like it or not, Joshua is part of the through Michaela's actions and whatever hell he unleashes on them, it will always go back to their own actions and Michaela's actions in Hollow Creek.
I'd like that, for a beautiful girl to catch his eye, I always want to give an ending that's right for them, but sometimes the story has different ideas. Here's to hoping that a nice girl sweeps him off his feet.
Thanks so much for reading and leaving me feedback.
And I got you about the kiss/kill. I figured that's what you meant.
~ Oh, no, nothing good can come of this,it was an accident!
ReplyDelete~ I wonder what will happen next!?
~ Loved it, so sorry for the short comment!(",)
I would like to say I'm sad...but I'm not. Now maybe Krisis and Leigh can live without fear and maybe it was for the best. She did live a tormented existence, tormented and dillusional...edenz~
ReplyDeleteI would like to say I'm sad...but I'm not. Now maybe Krisis and Leigh can live without fear and maybe it was for the best. She did live a tormented existence, tormented and dillusional...edenz~
ReplyDeleteOh wow :| That was unexpected!!
ReplyDeleteWell at least Krisis now has one less crazy fan to worry about; and Leigh will be a lot safer...?
I certainly didn't expect Beau to do such a turn around. I can't help but feel that this is part of a revised plan... that maybe he's going to let the heat die down before he continues with his "Kill Krisis" plan.
Gosh... I missed this story sooooo much!! I'm off to read the rest of the chapters.
Great work Val!! :)
