188. Consequences

Bridgeport, present day...
Bianca had just returned from dropping off her son at playschool when her doorbell rang. She frowned, wondering who it was so early in the morning. She didn’t have a lot of friends. In fact she didn’t have any friends at all. When things ended between her and Beau, her so called friends had vanished too.
Bobo, Vladimir’s kitten, meowed at her on her way to get the door. Bianca glanced at his empty bowl. He was obviously hungry. She told herself she’d feed him as soon as she got rid of her visitor.
“You took your damn sweet time,” the messenger drawled when Bianca opened the door.

She was shocked at his abruptness, but she didn’t say anything as he shoved a serious looking envelope in her hand. Before she’d even had time to grasp what it was that he had given her, the messenger had already spun on his heel and was now starting towards the elevators.

“What’s this?” Bianca called after him.

“Why don’t you read it?” The messenger sighed impatiently as he got in the lift and vanished from her life.
Bianca walked back inside her tiny flat and locked the door behind her. Before she could rip into the envelope Bobo whined again at her feet, reminding her he was hungry.

She dumped the envelope on the counter and fed the cat.
The home phone rang and Bianca dazedly reached for it. It was her mother, she’d just seen a news clip of K-Infinity and she’d remembered she worked with the band and she was wondering why she didn’t come to Sunset Valley for the tour.

“Mom, I don’t work for them anymore, I told you this,” Bianca sighed irritably, and immediately regretted it, it wasn’t her mom’s fault that she was getting old and forgetful.

“Well I’m sure if you asked them nicely they’d take you back. It would have been nice to see you since they are in town,” her mom continued.

“A lot happened between us, mom. But I promise we’ll come and see you. Vlad misses you, he asks about you all the time. I love you mom, got to go!” Without waiting for her mom’s response she disconnected the line.
Bianca sat down and ripped the envelope; she immediately regretted it when the contents of the letter sunk in. Beau’s lawyer wanted her to submit to a paternity test for Vladimir. If the results came back in Beau’s favor they planned on asking the judge to grant him sole custody. Her ex’s Rottweiler politely advised her to find herself a good lawyer.

“No,” Bianca cried as she let the threatening papers fall from her hands, they made a soft, fluttering sound when they hit the counter top.
She blindly pulled out her mobile and called Beau. He picked up on her fourth try, she knew he’d ignored her previous three calls just to rile her up.

“What the hell is this? You can’t do this! You can’t take him away from me. I’m his mother!” She shrieked as soon as she heard his cold voice.
“You forced my hand when you took him in for that fucking procedure even after I asked you not to. I warned you there’d be consequences!” Beau couldn’t wait to throw her actions back in her face.

“I did it for him,” Bianca countered. But nothing she said would change his opinion of her. He’d made up his mind, she was guilty and had to be punished to the full extent of his law.

“This isn’t over Beau!” Bianca threatened him.

“I was hoping you’d say that,” Beau retorted before he hung up.
Bianca threw herself a pity party for a few minutes before she gathered her missiles.
She hated what she was about to do, but with no money to pay for a good lawyer she had no other choice. She reluctantly dialed her mother’s number and braced herself for the barrage of questions…

  2. Beau is such an a**. Bianca did what any mother would do for child but he just can't see that. Beau just hates the fact that they are not together and he has no control. This his way to get that control back.

    1. I like what you said, about this being a power trip on Beau's part, to some extent it is, but he also feels deeply wronged by Bianca.

      Thanks for reading.

  3. I really hate to be this way, but I understand where Beau is coming from. *ducks*

All the same, sole custody is a bit harsh, but, according to him anyway, what choice does he have if she's going to do things like that to Vlad without taking his opinion seriously?

I'm not saying I like Beau. I don't really like Bianca either for that matter. But that's not what matters. Vlad is what matters. (and saying that while thinking of his namesake gives me the creeps)

Those procedures are scary and quite literally go against nature.

    Good update. :)

    1. I totally get what you mean about Beau, and like you I can see both their sides, they'll never agree on it, but both feel justified in their actions.

Lol @ your mentioning the deceased Vlad. Whoa, you just took me way back in time.

      Thanks for reading.

  4. My cat would not let me get away with answering the door before the bowl was filled, lol.

So, Beau has done a lot of evil crap, but this, taking Bianca's son from her, is just horrible. *hates Beau*
I hope his plans gets royally screwed with and he dies in a fire.

I totally understand your hate for Beau. Now there's a thought, about his plans going royally screwed, and funny you mention a fire. I'm not saying more now...nope, no more. My lips are sealed. Lol.

      Thanks for reading.

  5. Wow, um...wow. Beau was pissed about the procedure but now to take custody. But why ask for the paternity test? Does he really doubt Vlad is his or was it just for the added insult?

Either way Bianca has a fight on her hands now.

    1. It was not for an added insult. A few chapters back, Bianca mentioned Beau's name was not on the birth certficate, so Beau has no proof whatsoever that he's Vlad's father, and can't exactly file for custody without any legal document backing him up. Beau was more than just pissed, if he can kill Jacqueline just send a message to Krisis, taking away his son from Bianca is child's play.

  7. DAMMIT BEAU WHY DO YOU SUCK SO DEEPLY!? I don't want Vlad to go to Beau!! He'll be corrupted! That poor sweet innocent darling will be crushed like the delicate petal he is with a father like Beau. NO! do not want!! I want him to stay with him mama, and then she'll make friends with Leigh and Eloise who really needs to tell everyone about her uh - issue - and then all their kidlets can be best friends together! That's what needs to happen here. :I

Ehem. But yeah, Im really so unimpressed with Beau. Besides, isn't he too busy plotting stupid plots to raise his son? Argh. So annoyed.

I feel really bad for Bianca. :( She doesn't deserve this, and she seems like a much better person that I used to think. She got the wrong end of the stick and ended up pregnant with Beau baby and now he's being all sucky about it cos he SUCKS. Uuuuuuuuuuuurgh. >:I I hope her mother understands and helps her!

    1. Eni,

Your rant is understandable, and with all the evil things Beau has done in the past, I can see why you'd think he'd corrupt Vlad. And yeah, it would have been nice for Bianca to make friends with Leigh, but they are both moving in different directions. But maybe some day. I wouldn't rule it out just yet, the possible friendship.

Lol, yes, he is busy plotting, but for now his focus is getting his son.

Bianca is such a strange character, initially she was just supposed to be an extra, but her storyline with Beau just grew a life of its own. She's a nicer person now that she's a mother, I think.

Thanks so much for reading. Your comments always make me think and reflect and look back on old chapters with fond feelings.

  8. What an asshole Beau is. Yes Bianca did something without talking about it with him first and yes she should have, the procedure could have gone very wrong and Vlads life could have been at risk but jees....she did it for him and I'm betting she knew if she had talked to Beau about the answer would have been a 'hell' no.
Now, I don't agree with what she did, I know and understand her reasons, mostly fear but I don't agree with it.
However Vlad spends the majority of time with his mother, he will be lost if Beau gets him cause you can bet if he does, he'll never want Bianca to see him=/.....edenz~

    1. Edenz,

I understand your strong dislike of Beau, but at the same time I can see where both him and Bianca are coming, it is a tough situation with no clear and easy answers. And I like what you said about Vlad being lost without Bianca, he does spend a lot of time with her, and moving him to a new environment may do more harm than good.

      Thanks for reading.

  9. Hmmm......I guess one can dislike or maybe even hate Beau but I have a feeling that he will present a strong case. Maybe not for sole custody though...but still...it was nice to check in on their situation!

  11. I guess that I shouldn't be but I'm shocked that Beau is doing this to Bianca! I thought that he did care about her deep down. He has to know how much this will hurt her!
