Bridgeport, present day...
A blissful calm settled over the house after the birth of their triplets, cocooning Leigh and Krisis in its warmth. For days all they wanted to do was to lay in bed and gaze lovingly at their children, Lily included.
Patty would often come into their room to remind them they had to eat, take Lily to school, pay the bills and run errands.
Those first few days the rest of the world was forgotten, they were so caught up in their love for each other and for their kids, awestruck from the emotional high of producing such miracles.
Waking up in the middle of the night to feed their babies was as exciting as meeting the president.
Singing lullabies at three in the morning became a favorite past time…
And all they wanted and needed was each other and tons of coffee to keep them awake.
Until real life kicked in and the stink hit the fan.
Suddenly they were eyeballs in laundry,
dirty diapers and potty training duty,
bottle feeds and food fights.
And screaming babies at all hours, from morning till night, Monday right through to Sunday.
No matter what they tried, they just couldn’t get into a routine.
While Leigh fed Kristian, Krisis would try to put Ariel or Azalea to sleep.
And as soon as Kristian was done feeding, one of the girls would wake up or Lily would need a bath or had to be read a bed time story.
They just didn’t have enough time on their hands…
There were never enough hours in the day…

And they were both spreading themselves thin, trying to split their time and attention between all four toddlers.

They couldn’t even enjoy simple pleasures like going for a stroll because just leaving the house was a nightmare. Bundling up all four tots in their strollers and packing their four bags took forever.
And on the rare occasions they went out, there was always the drama of getting to their destination. Paparazzi, constantly parked outside their house in hopes of snapping photos of their kids would chase them relentlessly.

Twice, Leigh and the kids had gotten in to minor fender benders because of the rabid tabloid journalists. As a result Krisis had hired a chauffeur for Leigh, stepped up her security detail and increased the number of her body guards. In addition to Nick and Tony, she now had Sandra and Ray, for women they were very aggressive and were not afraid to use force to get rid of a perceived threat.

A day at the park with the kids would often turn into an autograph session for Krisis.
Going shopping was just as terrible, Leigh couldn’t pick fresh produce without someone closing in on her and asking her about the kids. Some were even bold enough to ask to see photos and she’d reluctantly take out her purse and show off her most treasured gifts. But she understood they meant well and she always tried to take it all in her stride and remain polite at all times.

Eating out was a pain too. People would often stop at their table to coo over the tots and make small talk. Krisis and Leigh liked meeting his fans and chatting to them, but being listless and exhausted from lack of sleep, sometimes they were just not in the mood and they would have preferred to be left alone.
While they tried to be good parents to their kids, when it came to their relationship they let the ball drop and it took huge dents.

They didn’t spend time alone as a couple. They didn’t go on dates and surprise each other with candlelit dinners like they used to when it was just the two of them and Lily.
The sizzle in the bedroom had fizzled out too.
Every time Krisis tried to rekindle the flames Leigh would push him away, claiming she had a migraine.
He understood she was tired, understood that raising four toddlers with different personalities and needs was hard on her. But he just wished she’d understand it was just as hard on him too, and he missed her.
When he tried to show her where he was coming from, Leigh didn’t take too kindly to his words. She flew off the handle and they got into the worst ever screaming match of their relationship.
“I miss you. I miss spending time with you. I miss having you in my arms. Is that so wrong?” Krisis asked.
“I’m tired. I woke up at three this morning. I had to feed the kids, bathe them, read to them, change diapers, do the laundry, run errands, come back home and cook for you. Please cut me some slack here!” Leigh screamed as she jumped up from the bed.
“You carry on like I don’t help you with the kids. And I keep telling you we can hire more help if you want, but no, you just want to do everything yourself. I don’t expect you to be super mom. I don’t want you to be super mom. I just want you back!” Krisis pleaded with her.
Leigh ignored his valid arguments and ran to the bathroom. She banged the door behind her, but forgot to lock it.

Krisis barged in.
“Don’t walk away from me when I’m talking to you, Leigh!” He screamed at her. And it wasn’t long before they were dragging each other down.
It wasn’t screaming in the baby monitor that stopped their argument, but the slight static, alerting them of an impending power cut.

They knew it was Azalea. She was causing it but they hadn’t figured out how. They’d noticed though that the sudden power outages in the house and electrical appliances going wonky were directly linked to her moods.
“Az is upset,” Leigh murmured.
“She can hear us arguing. I’ll go check on her,” Krisis replied. He hated leaving in the middle of their argument, he wanted to resolve it there and then, but he knew if Azalea was left unattended, upset and scared, this time she’d destroy a lot more than the TV and PVR she’d sabotaged on their last argument.
“Hey sweetheart, what’s going on?” Krisis cooed at his daughter as he picked her up. He wasn’t surprised to see Kristian and Ariel were also awake in their cribs.
A faint smell of burning cloth was coming from Kristian’s side of the room, and the xylophone Ariel loved so much floated in the air, suspended in space.
“It’s okay, baby. Mommy and daddy were just talking, that’s all,” Krisis assured her.

Azalea just stared at him with confusion and fear in her eyes.

As soon as he snuggled her in his arms and she quietened down, the burning smell cleared up some and Ariel’s toy dropped to floor with a soft thud.
Leigh came into the room then and changed the linen in Kristian’s crib. She held out the bed sheet and showed Krisis the spot where it was slightly singed, the look in her eyes said it all, she was tired and something had to be done about the triplets’ condition.
It took them close to forty five minutes to put the triplets back to sleep, and they went to check on Lily, who, surprisingly, was still asleep, before turning in for the night.
“I’m sorry,” Leigh was the first to apologize.

Krisis drew her close to him; it was his way of letting her know he was also sorry.

“Doesn’t it scare you?” She asked him.

“What?” Krisis asked. He knew though what she was asking him; he was just caught off guard by her question.

“They are not normal Krisis. At first I thought it was okay. I thought all Vampire kids can sabotage electric appliances and manipulate electricity, start fires and move things with their minds. But you said so yourself those are not vampire abilities. It’s not normal. Kristian can’t get too excited because he lights up the place. Azalea can’t get too upset because she starts taking out the lights, and Ariel just lifts things with her mind. That can’t be normal. What’s wrong with them?” Leigh cried on his chest.

“I don’t know, Leigh. I don’t know. But we know what’s causing it we just need to be careful around them. We just need to make sure Az doesn’t get highly upset and Kristian doesn’t get too excited that’s all,” Krisis kissed her forehead, trying to erase her fears. But from the tight way she held herself away from him it was obvious that this time it wouldn’t work.
If Leigh had followed through with her plans to strike up a friendship with Bianca, they would have known they weren’t the only ones harboring secret fears about their children…

They’d noticed their kids’ strange behaviour very early, in fact right after their birth, but caught in their perfect bliss they’d ignored it, hoping they were imagining things. Sudden, but minor power outages would occur whenever Azalea was upset, hungry or just listless.

And When Krisis and Leigh played with Kristian and he got too excited, they’d notice a burning smell emanating from him. They’d also smelled it when he was angry or upset and they’d noticed the blisters on his skin too.

Ariel’s ability was also linked to her emotions. When she was happy she’d levitate her toys gently and steer them around the room, causing her siblings to laugh and clap at her antics. But when she was upset, she’d rearrange the furniture and not in a good way. Ariel was intuitive too; she sensed and saw things no else could.
Not too long ago she’d awakened in the middle of the night, screaming and crying, and when Krisis finally got through to her telepathically, the only way they knew how to communicate with the triplets since they couldn’t talk yet, they’d learned Ariel had had a premonition and in her vision Leigh was dead. Of course they’d dismissed it and assured all four kids nothing would ever happen to Leigh, but Ariel was adamant something terrifying was on the way, and for days she was clingy, refusing to let Leigh out of her sight.

Their secret about their kids’ strange abilities was one of the reasons Krisis and Leigh refused to let them sleep over at Eloise and Devon’s house and they’d stopped inviting their friends and families over too because of it. They’d become reclusive, using the paparazzi as an excuse. So far it had worked. But pretty soon they knew their families would stop entertaining their excuses.
“Maybe we should take them to a hospital. Get them checked out,” Leigh suggested.

“They are not sick Leigh!’ Krisis snarled at her.

Leigh recoiled from him and buried her head in her pillow, sobbing tearfully on the soft material.

“Look. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have lost my temper,” Krisis apologized as he once again took her in his arms. “But taking them to a hospital may not be a good idea. What if they want to experiment on them? What if they keep them there and make them lab rats or something. No. Leigh. I won’t put our babies through that. There’s nothing wrong with them, they are just different, that’s all!”
“Okay. But I’m scared Krisis. You are going on tour soon, and I’ll be left alone with them. What if Az gets so upset I can’t control her emotions? I’ve tried to calm her down before and it never worked. You are the only one who can,” Leigh voiced her concerns.

“Only because she senses your fear, Leigh. She knows you’re afraid of her, and when you try to reach out to her you upset her even more. Az would never hurt you. She loves you.”

“I know that. I know they all love me, and I love them just the same if not more. But I don’t know what to do anymore. How can I not be scared when I see her manipulate electricity and destroy our appliances? When I see Kristian start fires with his mind? And Ariel rearrange the room without lifting a finger?” Leigh asked. All her concerns were valid and Krisis wished he could give her the answers she wanted. But he was just as lost as she was.
“What do you suggest we do?” Krisis asked.

“Speak to Thornton; find out more about your family background. Maybe there’s something you don’t know about Vampires,” Leigh told him. She felt him grow tense at the mere mention of his father.

“Fine. I’ll speak to him. But what about your side of the family? What if this comes from them? I mean, Lily doesn't have these abilities.”

“We don’t know that.  We don’t know that Lily doesn't have other abilities. Besides, I know everything about my family Krisis. Don’t you think I’d know if someone on my side had strange powers?”
“I don’t know. I’m just saying anything is possible, that’s all,” Krisis told her as he pulled her over him. This time Leigh didn’t resist his advances, she welcomed his hot kisses on her delicate jawline as he undressed her.

For the first time since the birth of their triplets, they made love. It was heartbreakingly intense and it brought tears to her eyes.

“I love you,” she whispered as she shuddered in his arms.

Krisis didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to, the love he felt for her was there in his eyes and she’d have to be blind not see it…

Note: Tomorrow, November 21st, will be exactly a year since I posted the very first chapter of Krisis. It's been an amazing,  emotional journey writing this series, I've met so many wonderful, talented, inspirational readers and writers alike because of Krisis and Leigh. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you for still being here a year and 146 chapters later. I'm humbled by your kindness.

Happy Birthday Krisis!

  1. I love the banner for this season. Wow, the triplets just make things a whole lot more interesting. I'm scared about the vision thing...hope nothing happens to Leigh.

Congratz on the one year anniversary, wow it's been a whole year that's amazing. You probably have the longest running story in sim history!!!

  2. Pixx,

    Yay, Season 5's 1st commenter.

Thank you! I thought it's time for a change, new season, new things happening, and tomorrow being Krisis' b-day, it seemed fitting to let go of old things and embrace the new.

Yes, their abilities do add a new dimension, I guess they'll be steering Krisis back to paranormal, for a while there it was just romance. But at this stage, this was just purely to introduce their traits (or future traits since some of them are unlocked when their older).

The vision thing has both Krisis and Leigh in knots.

Thank you! Yeah, it's been one whole year, time flies when one has such a wonderful support system.

LOL, a year is hardly long, I know of stories which have been running for 3 years +.

    Thanks so much for reading!

  3. Oh wow, Val. You would post right as I'm about to walk out the door. ;)

Awww, I loved this chapter. It seemed like I was actually there with them, in the midst of all the chaos. Having four toddlers? I can't even imagine, so I can understand why they're practically putting their heads through the wall. I guess being insanely famous doesn't help matters either, eh? But I'm extremely happy that they still find moments to cherish one another (AND TO HAVE HOT, HOT SEX)! <3

Wow, an entire year? That's seriously insane. That just made me realize just how much time has passed and how long I've been attached to this story. I remember when I read the first chapter and being completely hooked. I still am, and I'm so happy that you have continued this. I've always loved your writing Val, from chapter 1 all the way to 146. Never stop. :)<3

  4. Happy anniversary!!!!!!

What to say??? The triplets are too cute but I can understand why Leigh is scared. Lily isn't like that so is there something hidden on her side she doesn't know about? But then again there is something possibly going on with Bianca's tot as well. Starting off the season with a mystery.

They are exhausted and it's too be expected with 4 toddlers. I don't know how you even get the shots for these but they are amazing as always.

Leigh dead??? Is that a hint that maybe just maybe this season he will be forced to turn her in order to save her???

    So many questions.

    Loved it!!!

  5. Wow! I didn't see that coming! Thats crazy! I can't wait to find out why they have super powers! And about her vision of Leigh dying! O_O That can't be good o.o Sad about them being so overwhelmed. I can imagine taking care of 4 tots could be a pain in the ass >_< I hope things get better
Wow almost a year! Wow! Happy anniversary! BTW Love the new banner 8) Can't wait to see if it has anything to do with anything. Maybe it has something to do with the promotion?! :O Uh I cant wait! And he is going to talk to Thornton? Good its about time! You know what else is about time? Its about time Krisis asks Leigh to marry him, thats what its about time for! Haha :D Great chapter! I can't wait to find out what happens in this season and with the tots and everything!!!!!!

(Btw I just went though some of the comments from past chapters looking for something, and I just realized something: I am annoying! Sshhessh I don't know how you dont just tell me to shut up sometimes LOL)

  6. Happy Birthday, Krisis!
    Amazing :)

The banner is gorgeous although foreboding. I love the lettering used for "Krisis".

The chapter was wonderful, as always. The emotions were high again, there in the beginning, and I was getting as frustrated with Leigh as Krisis was I think. (haha) Knowing her fear in hiring more help is related to the babies' differences makes sense. I hope she doesn't fall back into that funk where she just shuts herself off. The talk with Thornton should be very interesting. I sort of have a feeling though that maybe Leigh just doesn't know everything about her family as she thinks. She was very young and any dark family secrets probably weren't spoken of with her around.

Can't wait to see where everything goes. :)

  7. brookeshire,

Ah man, did I make you late for your appointment? Sorry :)

Thank you, I'm glad you loved it. It's crazy having four tots, playing their house is a nightmare, and an even bigger one for Leigh and Krisis since they are constantly hovering around the kids.
You're right, Krisis being famous adds a lot of pressure they could do without right now, but what can he do, it's a his job. Yes, the hot, hot sex, they have to keep all aspects of their relationship healthy.

I know, right? I didn't think I'd still be writing Krisis a year later when I first started. But it's grown so much over the months and it's all thanks to yours and others' support.

Thank you, that makes me so happy to know you are still enjoying the series after so many chapters.

  8. Jaz,

    Thank you.

They are adorable. I didn't think I'd love any tots more than I love Lily and Blake, but the trips are fast becoming my favs.
Leigh is understandably scared and worried. Yes,if Bianca didn't have the same fears then it would def be on Leigh's side of the family.

Yeah, caring for 4 tots isn't easy on both of them. And thanks for the compliment on the shots.

Ariel's premonition sets the pace and storyline for this season. She has them worried, but they are both trying not to freak out.

I hope they will all be answered as the season unfurls.

Thanks so much for reading and for leaving me your feedback.

  9. Rose,

LOL. I don't think a lot of people expected that. I didn't expect it either until I started writing Season 5. Their super powers, why they have them, will be explained in the next update. Ariel's vision has them worried, but they are trying not let it show.
They are definitely overwhelmed, and things would be better, or less hectic if they had more help.

Thank you, yeah, 1 whole year has gone by. LOL @ your statement about the banner, it was meant to set the tone for this season. It will get very dark.

Thornton too is in the next chapter. I need to start wrapping up their long running storyline with him, and start his own soon.

Krisis did ask Leigh to marry him in Barnacle Bay, but she told him she'll only marry him if he turns her. So they are at a stalemate. It wasn't the most romantic marriage proposal, so I understand why you'd forget that bit. But he will make her his wife officially this season.

And you are not annoying at all, if you were, I would have blocked you a long time ago.

Thanks so much for reading and for all your feedback and encouragement.

  10. Fae,

    Thank you!

Yes, the banner is most def foreboding, foreshadowing of things to come. Thanks, I played around with the fonts and the I used seemed fitting for the banner.

You're right, Krisis was getting frustrated with Leigh, but he can't exactly blame her, all her fears and concerns are valid, she just wants answers about their kids and him insisting they are normal when they are clearly not, is creating a lot of friction between them.

The talk with Thornton is surprising to say the least. It's in the next chapter.

You're right, Leigh was very young when she lost her parents and El's parents took her in, so she doesn't know as much as she thinks she knows about her family, and if Bianca wasn't worried about Vladimir, I'd be leaning that way too, towards Leigh's fam.

Thanks for reading and your feedback.

~ I love the new Banner, but then you know I love your work,in it's entirety!
~ So very busy,& it is very understandable why Leigh does not want to hire more help,I am amazed that Patsy is still with them,(she is the only one that has lasted!)them all being Vamps would freak out a faint hearted nanny!
~ I think that their abilities is very scary for them as they do not understand what is happening!
~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRYSIS!(were are those bananas when you need them?)
~ So glad they resolved the drought,as Krisis needs his woman, she keeps him centered!

    -You, last to read? Never!
-Thank you. I'm thrilled you love the banner. I wanted to send it to you last night to approve it, but then I thought you were sleeping. It was time for a change.
-Yeah, the 4 tots are keeping them on their toes. Patsy loves Lily to bits, and now the three other Frostlets, even if she wanted to leave them, she couldn't, not when they need her.
-True, especially for Leigh who comes from such a normal background, but they'll figure it out. They have to.
-We really need the banana dance now.
-LOL @ the drought! You are right, Krisis would have gone mad from withdrawal, Leigh's crazy for not putting out, but then again poor girl is exhausted.
    -Thank you!
    -Remember, you asked for it.

  16. Lckygrl, time flies doesn't it? The trips should be okay as long as Krisis and Leigh can get to the bottom of what's causing their abilities. Thanks for reading!

  19. I have to say, your intro is one of the best I've seen around the forums. The depth and emotion that you covered in such a short chapter shows your immense talent as a writer. I've also skimmed some of the love scenes, and OMG, HOTTT!!! I feel like I'm reading a romance novel with some paranormal mixed in.

Your story is amazing, and you have give me a lot of ideas as to how to improve my own. Keep up the great work! Have you thought about publishing your own book?

Fee free to check mine out as well:

  20. tommiegirl,

Thank you, that's awfully nice of you to say that. Thanks for checking Krisis out and for leaving me feedback. Lol @ your comment on love scenes. Krisis was supposed to be mostly paranormal, but it ended up being a romance drama. This season though I plan on steering it back to paranormal.

Again, thank you, it makes me so happy to know you enjoyed it and I'm glad you could take away some things from Krisis and improve your stories, though from what I read so far it hardly needs improving. I can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind, but I honestly wouldn't know where to start about getting published and also I'm very shy when it comes to my writing, I don't have the guts to send it out there.

I've checked it out and I must say Lyn is an adorable girl. Mr Nunu too! Great job and I plan on getting caught up today!

  21. Valpre,

When I read Passion, Lust and Seduction, my mouth was literally on the floor, going OMG!!! I was shocked at first because I've never seen anything that detailed in a sim story. But they were sooooo HOT!!! The way you capture imagery and emotion in these scenes is just as good as the scenes I've read in romance novels.

I'm a hopeless romantic so I'm naturally drawn to stories with romance or some type of possibility or love..or lust. XD To quote Carrie Bradshaw, "..all consumning, can't live without you love." Krysis and Leigh definitely have that connection: emotionally and sexually. And that's so crucial in romance genres.

Awwww, you're very kind. Thank you, that means a lot to me. To be honest with you, when I was reading your story and looking over the pics and little details, I was like, "Damn. She's good." And I looked at my own story and I was like..meh what's the point? lol But you've actually inspired me to do better. I even downloaded pose player for the upcoming romantic and love scenes. Oh, and I won't feel so bad about upcoming love scenes as well. After reading yours, I won't feel as shy about nudity and being more graphic.

And are you kidding me?? Shy about your writing? Your writing is anything but shy. You should definitely look into getting published. You already have a great start with Krysis.

  22. Excellent chapter! The triplets are simply adorable, and it was only a matter of time before the dirty diapers overpowered the bliss. Haha. So intriguing! The triplets abilities have opened a lot of curiosity & intrigue. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Well done. ^_^

  23. 2 days late but Happy Anny for this series! I wasn't there for the very start but I think I came in around season 2 I believe.

This was a good start to the season, I like that the triplets each have their own ability. And the look into the future that Leigh may die :O I wonder what could be so big a threat to her?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love your new banner, Val!

I can't wait to see how the baby's abilities develop! I'm glad that Krisis and Leigh ignored their tiredness and spent some intimate time together.

I love this story more with each chapter.

I'm upset because I didn't see this update until now. I clicked the follow button, so that I won't miss it again!

  25. tommiegirl,

LMAO. I've written sim stories before, but it wasn't until Krisis I decided to get bolder and write what I wanted to write and stop censoring things. Thank you for the compliment, that makes me happy especially since I know a lot of fantastic romance novels out there. I'll be honest I found it very hard to post Lovers and Passion because it wasn't something I'd done before and I was worried about readers' reactions but I didn't get any complaints so I guess I did okay.

Since I write for an adult audience in mind all my stories, including The Forsaken:http://theforsaken-valpre.blogspot.com/ and Seven:http://valpre-seven.blogspot.com/ have adult concepts and I'm okay with that, but at the same time I don't want to make readers uncomfortable that's why I put up polls on all three blogs asking them how they felt about mature content, and I was surprised with the results, with the exception of one or two, they were all for it and I haven't looked back since then.

Like you I really think chemistry and passion are crucial elements for any romantic relationship between characters, and I'd like to think I don't write love scenes for gratitious purposes, it's always to show where the couple is in their relationship emotionally, spiritually and most of all sexually too and to grow their bond in some way.

I love clutter, and I love decorating, and it took quite a lot of practice to get my sets to the way they are and give them that "lived in" feel, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but what's important is I had fun when I was doing up the places and taking shots. And if you can keep that in mind, you'll be fine. Whatever you, have fun, experiment with different things, try new things, but never stop having fun. When I look at your story, I can tell you're having fun playing the game and you're incorporating all the game interactions into your story, which is awesome. The pose player is fantastic, and I was glad when somebody created it and they made a breakthrough in posing sims, but on the other hand, I feel it took away my fun time too because I can't not take a pic without posing sims anymore. But with season 5 I'm stepping back a bit on poses and I'm going back to basics and to just enjoying the game.

Thank you, that means a lot to me. Maybe one day I'll do something about it.

Thanks so much for reading and for stopping by again.

  26. Quan-Kun,

Thank you! They are adorable, I can just play their house the whole day, but after a while it does get tedious with all the skilling and feeding and diaper changing, and I agree, it was just a matter of time before they felt overwhelmed.
The triplets abilities were introduced to open their future storylines, for now they won't be that much of a focus.

    Thanks for reading!

  27. Aeon,

LOL. Better late than never I guess. Thanks.
I'm glad you like the trips indivual abilities, more on them in their separate storylines though. Yes, Ariel has seen the future and it doesn't look bright for Krisis and Leigh. Thanks for reading.

  28. Daisies,

Yay, I'm glad you love it. I got tired of the old one, and seemed like the right time to switch.

The babies abilities for now won't be the focus of the story, I just wanted to introduce them for future storylines. True, they needed to restore the intimacy in their relationship.

Aw, that makes me so happy to hear you say that.

And thanks for reading and for following Krisis.

  33. Sorry i'm late... but happy first birthday to Krysis <3 My the year really has flown by quickly :D Poor Leigh, i wonder if Ariel's premonition about Leigh being dead has anything to do with her being a vampire? I do wonder if it might have anything to do with Leigh's side... although asking Thorton might be the best idea. ;) Glad they're love life is finally back on track ^^
