117. Behind Closed Doors

Bridgeport, present day...

It was a bittersweet reunion at the private airport used by the members of the VLC, Eloise clutched both her future husband and precious son to her, afraid to let go, afraid if she did, she'd wake up and realize she was still trapped in her nightmare.

After a long while, Devon miraculously managed to remove himself from Eloise's tight grip and he went to find his sister.

"Thank you," Devon whispered in her hair.

Words would never describe the gratitude he felt. She'd stood by him throughout this week long ordeal and taken care of Eloise when he couldn't, he'd drawn strength and comfort from her. She’d allowed him to cry and be weak in front of her, and not once did she lose her patience with him. Her solid strength, her comforting words had gotten him through the oppressive clouds these past few days. He wished there was a way he could express just how much she'd done for him by just being herself.

Leigh stared at her feet, surprised by his words. She had no idea why he was thanking her, she'd done nothing but sit on his couch and hold Eloise's hand, in fact she'd felt embarrassed by how little she'd had to offer in way of finding her nephew.

"I'm glad he's home safe and sound," Leigh murmured over his shoulder, watching Eloise's parents coo over their grandson.

In one corner, J.D and Krimsyn were involved in a heated discussion. 

Leigh couldn't hear their conversation, but she could tell Krimsyn wasn't pleased. J.D. kept putting up his hands, as if trying to make her see his point, but Krimsyn kept shaking her head vigorously, a small, angry frown ruining her perfect features. 

Leigh hoped whatever it was, they'd sort it out.

She searched the room and her eyes rested on Krisis, standing off in the distance, alone, pissed at the world.

She didn't know what was bothering him and she'd tried countless times to get him to talk to her, but he refused to open up. He'd mentioned something about Cameron and Michaela, but Leigh knew it was more than his niece's crush weighing on him.

Tonight, in the privacy of their home, she'd get him to open up, and maybe they'd make love once they'd cleared the air. She missed him terribly, missed his hard body pressing up against hers, and missed his loving hands caressing her body.

"Are you okay?" Devon asked.

 
Leigh blushed, mortified she’d been caught out fantasizing about Krisis, she’d actually moaned out loud as she’d imagined his hands all over her.

"Yeah, I'm okay.” She replied and quickly made her way to the object of her fantasies. They had to go home. Now. She was on heat and she wanted him. Desperately. Their talk would have to wait…

At the penthouse Krimsyn was glad their daughter was staying at a friend's house, she had a lot to say to J.D, most of it wasn't good.

She followed him to the patio.

He knew it was coming, the tense way his shoulders were set, the way he looked at everything but her, gave him away.

The cars and the people below looked like ants from up here and the city looked amazing, but the wondrous cityscape was lost to them, they both had a lot on their minds.

"What the hell were you thinking? You could have been killed, that crazy woman could have shot you!" She cut to the chase. At the airport she'd held back, not wanting to cause a scene, but here, 18 stories high, she could scream her little lungs out.

"I made it back in one piece and Blake is fine. Why can't we just be happy?" J.D asked. He pulled her in his arms, flipped her around and pressed her against the pillar…

Krimsyn struggled for a bit, fighting off his rabid kisses, but her anger was no match for his passion, she soon found herself giving in, her treacherous body betraying her.

"NO!" She cried, pushing the straps of her top in place, somehow during their feverish kisses, J.D had lowered it, exposing her pert breasts to his lustful eyes.

"You can't use sex to distract me!" She added, moving away from him, a ploy to cool off the heat between them.

J.D. didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to. They both knew how the argument was going to end.

Krimsyn went to the bar to make herself something to drink, if she let him carry on with his seduction, she'd lose her train of thought and she'd never say what was on her mind.

Before she could have her drink though, J.D grabbed her again, kissing her deeply.

"I'm not distracting you, I'm just giving you what you want," He murmured, pushing her back, against the bar, running his hands through her hair.

She ran her own up and down his biceps, roaming greedily over his hard chest.

Sweet Jesus she wanted him, and she couldn't understand how after a hundred years of being with him like this, it still felt like that first time they’d made love.

J.D. unzipped her pants and yanked them down. Krimsyn knew she looked ridiculous with her top undone, her jeans dangling at her feet, her hair a mess, her lips swollen and ravished, but she didn't care. She moaned, in sheer ecstasy, as she felt his icy hands on her thighs. When he parted them to begin his exploration she nearly lost it.

"It is what you want isn't it?" J.D asked softly, his fingers playing with the lacy fabric.

"You know it is," she replied hoarsely, thoughts of talking some sense into him were a distant, hazy memory, all that consumed her now was this scorching heat between them.

In the dark, she heard his belt come undone and his zip slide down. He turned her around, and thrust into her, his strokes deep and sensual.

As her body convulsed, wracked by wild spasms, for the second time that night Krimsyn was grateful Michaela was not around to hear her cries of fulfillment.

 

A little while later, as they lay in a post-coital coma, Krimsyn finally made her concerns known.

"What if they ask you to come back?" She asked softly, trailing kisses on his bareback.

"They won't," he assured her. But she wasn't convinced.

"Would you go back?" She leaned over and peeked at him.

He turned her around so that he was leaning over her.

"Listen to me; it's never going to happen. I'm not that person anymore. I don't want to go back to S.WA.T, and they won't ask me to come back," he murmured, kissing her.

She fell silent, thinking about his words. They brought her little comfort. He hadn't seen that news clip of him acting on pure cop instinct when he and Devon had rushed to save Blake…Something had come alive in him, like a fire had been lit. Pure passion. Sadly as brilliant as he was a bassist, his music had never brought out that fire. He was cop through and through, and she couldn't deny it, Krisis had seen it too, the real J.D had come out for that brief second and the whole world had seen him.

She knew if it wasn't SWAT, some other law enforcement agency would be knocking on their door soon. And she couldn't have that, couldn't live with the constant fear and worry. That's why he'd quit, because in the end she couldn't take the risks and dangers that came with his job.

"Trust me, okay," he mumbled against her neck, "You and Mickey are all I want."

She wanted to believe him, wanted to trust his words, but the news clip kept playing in her mind, taunting her, reminding her of what she'd made him give up. For years she hadn't wondered about the cost. Maybe she should have.

Across town, Eloise and Devon were cuddling in bed, their son sleeping soundly between them. 

They were both relieved that their visit to the doctor, right after they left the airport, had gone well.  Apart from his irritated throat caused by all the screaming he'd done since Tamsyn nabbed him, the doctor had assured them Blake was a picture of perfect health. 

The preliminary tests the doctor had done revealed Tamsyn did not drug Blake. Tamsyn had obviously  been suffering from a cold or something and  the empty cough mixture bottles Sandra had found were for her own personal use .

"Thank you," Eloise whispered.

"For what?" Devon asked quizzically.

"You kept your promise. You came back with him," she explained.

She moved Blake to her side of the bed so she was in the middle now, Devon moved closer to spoon her. He'd missed this, these gentle, quiet moments in the dark with her, things he'd taken for granted until he'd almost lost them. Never again. He vowed.

Patty, Lily’s nanny, was ready to leave when they got home. Krisis paid her, and they went to up to Lily’s room to read to her and tuck her in.

At their bedroom door, Krisis hovered, one foot in, one foot out. Leigh knew right then the night wouldn't end the way she'd planned.

"Are you coming?" She already knew the answer, but she thought she should ask anyway.

"I thought I'll work on some new material," Krisis replied, unable to meet the pleading look in her eyes.

"It's late, surely it can wait, After Dark hasn't even been released yet," she murmured, taking his hand.

He yanked it from her roughly. "Not tonight, Leigh!"

She stepped back, shocked at the harshness in his voice. Without another word she turned on her heel, changed into her nightclothes and climbed on the bed.

Krisis lingered in the room, feeling like shit. He wanted to apologize, take back his harsh words, but if he did they'd go down the path he didn't want to take just yet.

Maybe tomorrow, he told himself as he watched Leigh snore peacefully...

I don't know how to speak baby language, so chances of having dedicated chapters focusing on the kids will be a rare occurrence, if at all. But to make up,  I'll be do something similar to what I did for Lily for the rest of the youngsters in Krisis.
