__________

Bridgeport, present day

It was a week since they found her, battered and half dead. A week since Krisis killed Vladimir, and they set his house on fire, making it seem like arson. Krisis had almost messed things up by killing Vladimir in the heat of the moment, but Sarah and Rudolf did a good job at making sure nothing linked them to the fire at the Schlick Manor.

The vampire council took mild interest in the arson case. Though Vladimir was one of the oldest vampires in Bridgeport, it seemed age had not made him wiser, but more evil instead and as a result he had acquired a few enemies along the way, all of them happy to learn of his demise. His enemies, including the most senior members of the council, were secretly thanking whoever had had the guts to deal with him. They knew it was one of their own who killed him. Humans wouldn't have the balls or the know how. But they were dragging their feet investigating the matter, hoping it will be a distant memory in not too long.

The Bridgeport Police Department too, was not worried about the case; after all it was just a bloody vampire who had perished. Had it been a human who’d died, they would have given the matter close attention.

Bridgeport did pride itself on being the first town to openly embrace vampires, but this doesn't mean the two races were treated equally, and it’s this blatant discrimination the Frosts were thankful for. If things were different, law enforcement would have been all over this suspicious arson case, and Krisis would have kissed his freedom goodbye.
Only Beau, Vladimir’s brother, knew the truth, and he wasn’t talking to the cops because he left town the same day his brother was killed, taking his girlfriend, Bianca Rubble, with him, leaving Krisis Infinity without a keyboard artist, and a band manager.

Beau was crafty enough to know Krisis would come after him when he was done with Vladimir, and when the tour was cut short, leaving thousands of fans and concert organizers enraged, he knew he was in trouble and had to make tracks, fast.
Because they couldn’t take Leigh to a hospital, they’d turned her room into a makeshift ward, with Jacqueline tending to her 24/7. The few times she’d talked they’d gathered Vladimir had not assaulted her sexually. But the verbal and physical abuse she’d endured at his hands was equally devastating.
Jacqueline was pleased with the progress her patient was making physically, but she informed them, emotionally Leigh was a horrific disaster waiting to happen. She’d even suggested counseling. But Leigh had firmly refused when Devon threw the idea at her. She just wanted to be left alone, in her numbness.
For hours she’d stare blankly into space, half listening to her visitors. She refused to meet their eyes, feeling ashamed. She covered herself in long oppressive clothing, and wrapped large blankets around herself, trying to hide from herself and from everyone, afraid if she peeled off even just one layer, they’d see the sordidness her body had been turned into.
Lost in her thoughts, she’d sometimes remember the hurtful way Vladimir had announced he’d seen her with Krisis under the bridge, and watched her act like a wanton whore.

Was that why he’d dirtied her, because he’d seen her love for Krisis as something cheap and dirty? Was that even love she felt for him?

God, she couldn’t bear to look at him, afraid of what she’d see in his eyes, the regret, the contempt. She didn't even want him close to her, convinced he wouldn't want her after this. What man would? Shit, she didn't even want herself. She screamed every time she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
The nights were the worst, she couldn’t sleep. The moment she drifted off, she’d see Vladimir’s intense eyes, feel his brutal fangs all over her, his hands roaming roughly on her body, and she’d wake up screaming and crying, unable to tell them anything because it was too shocking, too painful to be retold, and she wanted to spare them the horror.
Michaela was the only one who managed to bring a smile to her face when she spoke about Jett Atkins and her plot to get him to notice her. She was the only one she allowed close to her. Leigh found her mindless teenage bubble comforting, and the innocence in her eyes gave her hope, the world could still be right after this...with time.
She gingerly made her way out of the bedroom. The activity in the living room stopped, and she felt their eyes on her, feeling sorry for her, and she couldn't stand it...Couldn't stand the pity for one more second.

“I’m fine!” She waved them off before they could say anything. She was convinced if she heard one more “are you okay, do you need anything?” she’d come undone and cry.
She closed the bathroom door firmly. For a long time she stood under the water, scrubbing herself thoroughly, removing all traces of Vladimir. It had become an obsessive ritual, with her showering at least five times a day. She’d scrub, scrape, and peel at her skin, until her body ached, until she thought she was bleeding. But she’d still not feel clean enough, no matter how hard or how long she kept at it.
After an hour of scrubbing, she turned off the taps. For the first time since she came back, she forced herself to look in the mirror. But she couldn’t, she gagged over the basin, retching, screaming loud heart wrenching sobs
Instantly Krisis was in the room with her, and he held her tightly to him until she stopped shaking.
“Listen to me, this wasn’t your fault!” he told her gently.
“Yes it was! He saw us…at the bridge. He said he followed us to your house. He watched us, and he told me I acted like a wanton whore. Is that why he did this to me? Is that why he dirtied me, and rubbished me and all that’s left of me is this…imperfection!” She pulled away from him then and waved at her naked body.
For the first time since he met her, he did the one thing he’d promised himself he’d never do, he read her thoughts, and he wanted to die right there on the spot with her. He wished she’d told him, allowed him to carry the burden with her, and lessen her pain.
He gently wrapped a clean towel around  her body, and pulled her in his arms again, thankful she didn't push him away like she had been doing these last couple of days, wishing with all his heart he’d never gone on that damn tour!

  1. God poor Leigh...now Krisis knows and understands why she is acting in this way hopefully he will be able to help her, but only if he stops blaming himself. :D

  2. Good for Krisis for just walking right in there and soothing Leigh's fears and doubts, but I have the feeling Vlad did his damage to Leigh, inside and out.
Krisis himself is carrying some guilt here, so a lot of damage has been done indeed. Even to the band.
Great job showing the aftermath, and all the emotions it entails~

  3. ~ It is so sad,but yes, the brutality can never be washed away, only time heals these kind of wounds!
~ You have captured the real essence of this brutality!
~ I hope she will see that Krisis, only wants her to be well, but once he read her mind he knew it would be a long journey, at least she did not push him away, when he can to her, this time!
~ I do hope these two can sort it out!
    ~ Loved it Val,but I am a tad sad!:(

  4. Kim, you're right, too much blame going around in that house. Hopefully they'll all start healing soon.

  5. Karen, Vlad did a number on both of them, his sick gift to the two of them sadly. True, his guilt is weighing heavily on his shoulders. The band will take knocks after this, and they'd have to worker ten times harder to regain their good reputation and the fans' support and trust. Cutting the tour short was a bad move, but one that couldn't be avoided. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Karima, it will take her a long time to get to the right space, if there's ever such a thing after what she's been through.

True, she didn't push him away, so that's a good sign, maybe she's ready to move forward and let everyone in.

Sorry to make you sad, hopefully tomorrow's final daily update will make you happy. We'll see Tamsyn again. I just love her to bits that one.

  8. Daijahv, Leigh and Michaela have grown close, and it's not surprising she should reach out to her instead, and the fact that she's a child, and doesn't pose a threat to her helps.

Okay, that's the end of emotions, I promise. I don't want you all going sad on me.

Why am I not surprised by your bitch fest. LOL.

OMG, I have to move, go to another country, anywhere, just as long as crazy, stalker lady doesn't find me. Seriously though this cracked me up so loud, especially the checklist :)

  9. Awww I wanted to cry for her! I can imagine how an experience like that would make her feel so negatively about herself!

Beau was smart to leave but I wonder how the band will recover for this decision to cut it short for Leigh.

I can imagine Jackie standing outside the door frowning! Why is that funny to me? Does that make me evil? lol

  10. Qui, it is a heartbreaking situation she's found herself in, and it will take her while to feel good about herself again.

Beau, like his brother, also did his own damage, on top of dealing with the media backlash for canceling the tour, they have to find a keyboard artist, and a band manager.

LOL, yeah, Jackie, I can see her too, seething outside the door. And it does make you evil.

  11. I feel so bad for Leigh. She didn't deserve this at all. The physical pain she has had to endure is horrid enough, but on top of it, she will have mental and emotional pain. It seems like she is blaming herself for a lot of this mess though. I can relate to that though and it's actual very common for people to look back and see what THEY did wrong when things like this happen, when really it was out of their control.

I'm glad Krisis was able to comfort her though and I was glad that he won't have to pay consequences for killing Vlad (yet). I still miss Vlad! Best sims 3 baddie ever. Now whenever I play sims 3 and I see Vlad, I always relate him to your story.

At least I'll always have Vlad in my game! xD ♥

  12. brookeshire, you and me both. It's so unfortunate that bad things happen to good people. I think the emotional pain is just the worst. She is blaming herself, thinking she might have done things differently, if she hadn't gone after Krisis, Vladimir would not have seen them at the bridge, etc. But she doesn't get that it would have happened anywhere, anyway. The man was after her, so she didn't stand a chance from the start. Or maybe she did if Krisis didn't leave for the tour.

Yeah, Krisis won't have to deal with law enforcement, but there are other ways to pay. He may think he got away with it, but we'll see.

Did you see his pic on the bios section on the side. I couldn't wait to put him on the ground. LOL. I'm glad I made him memorable for you.

Yeah, you can play with him anytime.

    Thanks for reading.

  13. I love this Chapter! I am still upset that Leigh was kidnapped but she isn't as distant from Krisis as I thought she would be. Krisis looks like he hurts as much as she is because of his regret and I am glad he is slowly helping her through it. Poor Poor Leigh but she got lucky not that vamps exist but people get kidnapped all the time... but normally are either found dead or not at all.

  14. These updates were exciting, lots of action! I am glad that they were able to rescue Leigh, but her recovery seems difficult.

  15. Kristen, glad you loved it. As much as what happened to Leigh was unfortunate, she knows it wasn't Krisis' fault, that's why she isn't so distant. Krisis does carry a lot of guilt. You are so right, it could have had a tragic end. Thank heavens it didn't. Thanks for reading.

  16. Seaweedy, I'm so relieved to hear you found them exciting. I was worried about boring people, and feeding them too much of Krisis.
It is a difficult period for her.

  17. I've been reading for awhile but haven't posted anything... the story is absolute perfection Valpre. <3

Love the way you write and narrate. I feel like i'm in the characters shoes... poor Leigh. She has to carry the side effects forever... glad she's beginning to heal. ;) Can't wait for more

  18. Mango, I'm glad you've decided to finally post.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. And I couldn't agree more, Leigh will have to carry the side effects. It will take time, but she's on the road to recovery.
