109. On Cloud Nine

Barnacle Bay...
“Please sign here, here, and here,” John, her new landlord tapped his fingers lightly on the lease document attached to the clipboard, showing Tamsyn where to put her signature.

With a quick flourish of her hand she made a twelve month commitment to Barnacle Bay. She’d be staying at the tiny cottage overlooking the beach for a year, and she had the option of renewing the lease. But she knew she wouldn’t be making that mistake. She wasn’t planning on staying in one place for more than a year.  She had to keep moving and never settle down until she was absolutely sure the heat was off her.

She glanced at the lease once more, wondering if she’d made a mistake by coming here. She should have chosen a big city where she wouldn’t draw any attention to herself. Barnacle Bay was small, surely everybody knew everyone around here, and she’d stick out like a sore thumb, being a new comer in a small community. But…It was too late to be having second thoughts. She’d just signed the lease binding her to the bay; she really hoped it wouldn’t prove to be the biggest mistake of her life.
“Thank you. Rent is due on the first of the month, water and lights are not included.  I’ll send you a separate invoice for that,” John smiled at her as he slipped from his seat. His attention was soon stolen by the baby sleeping in the pram.

Something about his new tenant and the baby seemed familiar, he couldn’t put his finger on it, but it was there, lurking in the surface, screaming for release. He knew if he thought about it long and hard, he’d remember where he knew them from.
“Do you have any?” Tamsyn asked when she caught him looking at Blake.

“Four, two are married and the youngest two are in college,” John answered, an uncertain, almost confused smile on his lips. “Been married for thirty-five years!” He announced proudly, and Tamsyn winced.
Once upon a time she’d wanted that for herself…with Devon. But now she had something better, his son. Blake would never leave her. Blake was hers forever. He’d love her forever, and she’d do the same. She’d kill anyone who tried to come between them.
Tamsyn touched her handbag for reassurance; she relaxed when she found the outline of the small .38 caliber pistol Shark had thrown in as a goodwill gesture after he’d totally ripped her for more money to buy his silence.

She’d never fired a gun in her life, but for Blake, she’d use it without any hesitation.

“Thanks for everything,” she ushered John out of her new home, eager to settle in and think about her fresh start.
When she was alone at last, she leaned against the door and surveyed her surroundings. She didn’t like the walls and the furniture looked old and drab.

I’ll have to do something about it, she thought, as she pushed Blake’s pram to the only bedroom in her new home.

She wanted bright walls, and bright furniture. Things that would remind her of the happiness still to come in her new life with her son. She wanted something happy…Something lovely. She made a mental note to hit the DIY section of the local DION store first thing tomorrow morning.
After four days of traveling, on and off, she was exhausted. She changed into her PJs, changed Blake’s diaper and fed him before she climbed on the bed.
“I love you Blake Chad,” she mumbled, but quickly caught herself. She had to remember his name was Chad. Blake Starlington was dead, along with Tamsyn Smith. Only Joanne and Chad Brown existed now...
For the first time in a long time, with her son sleeping soundly beside her, she dreamed happy dreams, of rainbows and puppies, of babies and playing in the park, and building sandcastles. For the first time in a long time, she was truly happy.

Note: The Tamsyn poll results are in, luckily I scraped the votes that came in before Blogger chewed up the poll-

26 people think Tamsyn should be locked up in a white padded room.
8 people think she deserves Death by Devon.
And no one is in favor of jail time!

Thank you all for voting! You have changed Tamsyn's fate!

  1. I don’t know how to feel about this. I want her to be happy and that’s weird BUT I don’t want her to be happy with BLAKE STARLINGTON!

I believe she’d kill everyone too with that gun…I’m nervous for anyone that tries and I hope John contacts the police and NOT approach her himself with that info. They always make that mistake and get themselves killed (lol). I can see this being a very dangerous situation for everyone involved

I smiled at the fact that she loved him that much…but fanatics are still fanatics and those are the scariest people on Earth! She will go nuts if anyone tries to take her “son” like a real mother. That I like but…I fear for his safety when everyone locates her and tries to get him out of there!

Great update! I truly enjoy looking into her psyche! You really get into her head!

  2. Whoa, imagine my shock and surprise when I saw a comment from you on here. I almost fell off my chair :) I know you and Blogger don't get along :)

It's not weird at all that you want her to be happy, because I want that too for her. She's not all evil, just delusional and misguided and sad and lonely and heartbroken and she's lashing out the only way she knows how. But you're right, Blake's not the person to find happiness with.

She means business about that gun. She will use it and you have every reason to be nervous, she's unstable and unpredictable. The next update centers around John, so we'll see how he plays this one. True, true, the best thing for him to do would be to involve the authorities.

She does love the idea of Blake and she will go to extreme lengths to hang on to that idea, so anyone who tries to take him away better be ready to die.

Thank you. I try and it means a lot to me to know you think I get into her head.

  3. I despise this broad but she looks good with any style!

I feel bad for her only because she's super crazy but I need her to get discovered! She deserves happiness in the form of a needle and a bed with straps on them! I understand he feeling like she wants a piece of Dev, deserves a piece of Dev but has she considered the future? What will she do what he grows up and asks about his father or why his skin is brown and her's isn't?

  4. Qui,

I know your feelings for her run deep, but I had to laugh at that first line, it's like no matter how much you hate her, she's still a style icon, eh? LOL.

I understand, she is delusional and all sorts of mental related adjectives. And I'm so glad you pointed that out, sooner or later she will realize what a tough situation she's in, she can't keep running forever but for now she's living in the moment and has no real plans for the future.

    Thanks for reading.

  5. Wow, I dont have any pity for Tamsyn. I agree with the polls. She deserves that. Poor Eloise and Devon. I hope Tamsyn gets what she deserves and soon. But hopefully her landlord will keep his wits about him and not try anything stupid.

  6. Leah, I understand, nabbing Blake does not make her endearing! Now I know which way you voted :-)
Tamsyn's day of reckoning is soon approaching!
    Thanks for stopping by.

  7. ~ Loved it the first time I read it,even better with the pics!
~ Tamsyn,is extremely delusional,if she thinks that she can get away with this, hasn't it crossed her mind that her REAL parents feel the same way???? And would do just about anything to get their son back????
~ Sending physic messages telepathically to John,to jog his memory!LOL!
    ~ Loved it!(",)

  9. Karima,

~I'm glad the pictures added more to it.
~She's def delusional, and you're spot in about Dev and Eloise, they won't rest until they find him, and they will deal with whoever tries to stand in their way. So Tamsyn's really looking at this whole thing from her angle, she's not thinking about anyone else or that far ahead in the future for that matter
~John better accept those telepathic messages
    ~Thanks for reading.

  10. For some reason I totally missed this.

It amazes me that women look at a baby, like Tamsyn is doing to Blake, and think that the baby is going to be with them forever and love them and so on and so on, like the baby is a pet. It's insane. Tamsyn! Hello??? They grow up and they don't necessarily 'love' you when they do. So stupid. And it's not her baby!

Dumb crazy woman. I hope the landlord remembers where he recognized her.

  11. Karin,

Hope so too, if they don't find Blake, they'll most likely not survive it though.

Death would be too easy for her.

  12. Beth,

I like seeing this side of you, so riled up. LOL. Not sure if that's a good thing. But you do make a valid point, just because she's the "parent" doesn't mean she'll be a good one in his eyes and it doesn't mean he'll love her back. If only Tamsyn had that insight.

    Thanks for reading!

  13. A part of me is glad to see that she "loves" Blake, but the rest of me is scared out of my mind, because of what "love" means to a psycho like Tamsyn. And a gun in the hands of someone like her???
    *Shivers

  14. Argh.. Why does Valpre allow that devil to be happy? :D I hope John remembers and reports to the authorities ASAP. With a gun in her bag, i hope she just doesn't start shooting people. The small knit community sure don't need that. I want to check what's going through her brain - she's so crazy that she thinks Black will love her fully.
