Bridgeport, present day...
Krisis was glad Leigh had called him when she did. They had just wrapped up their final concert, and he’d wasted no time getting on the next plane to Bridgeport
“Where is she?” He demanded as soon as Leigh's brother answered the door.
He stood glaring at the Vampire, refusing to move aside to let him through. He had no doubt in his mind Krisis was responsible for his sister’s illness. How else would he explain her weird cravings for raw meat, the constant hunger, her sudden short-tempered attitude, and the deranged look in her eyes when she did venture out of her room?
If the motherfucker has turned Leigh—He let the rest of his thoughts swim in his spinning head. Now wasn’t the time or place to fight the Vampire. But if he has turned Leigh, there’ll be hell to pay. He’d go after the bloody lot, that much he guaranteed!
He’d let things go as far as they had between his sister and Krisis because it made her happy to see him try and get along with her boyfriend. But turning her into one of 'them' would prove to be a fatal mistake on Krisis' part, and reason enough to call off the tense truce between them.“She’s locked herself in there with Lily. She won’t come out. What did you do to her?” Devon scowled some more, his light brown eyes shooting angry daggers at Krisis.
The old feud is on again. Krisis observed bitterly. As if he didn’t have a lot on his plate with Leigh’s mystery illness, now he had to worry about her crazy brother. Great!
“What do you mean? I haven’t seen Leigh since I left a week ago; I have no idea what you are on about.” He rounded on 
“We think Leigh has an eating disorder. She’s been waking up in the middle of the night and going through our fridge and cupboards. But she’s denied it of course, and we didn’t want to worry you so much, you being on tour…It’s gotten worse though; she’s started eating raw meat, and she’s been throwing up a lot-” Eloise replied. He knew the rest. He and Leigh had talked some more last night, and she’d explained her weird cravings for blood.
Krisis was stunned to find her bedroom door locked when he tried to open it. “Leigh, open up!” He yelled. But after a second or so of no movement on her end, he threw himself at the door and it burst open.
Lily woke up at that exact moment and screamed in her crib. He gave her a quick kiss on her forehead before handing her to Eloise in the living room.
When he came back into Leigh's room, he was shocked to see how much weight she’d put on over the past week. She was still petite, but there was a little more meat on her, and her stomach looked slightly swollen. 
“Leigh, wake up, I’m taking you to a doctor,” he murmured as he lifted her in his arms and helped her get dressed.
“I’m fine. I don’t need a doctor. I’m just tired, that’s all,” she replied but he wouldn’t take her dismissal so easily.
"And you’ve been craving blood, not to mention you want to attack Eloise and After much debate, and a few harsh words from him, Leigh eventually agreed. Devon and Eloise wanted to tag along, but knowing what Leigh had told him about her cravings for their blood, he politely asked them to stay behind and look after Lily. He didn’t know what he was dealing with, didn’t know how much strength a ‘thirsty’ Leigh had and the last thing he wanted was to endanger the two people she cared about…
Wow Leigh even looks bad!

Looks like Devon isn't going to like the idea of Leigh being a vampire. He's going to be FURIOUS when he finds out his sister craves his blood.

2. Wow Leigh does look very ill, Kinda like me when I was ill, Boy that was torture.
I read this earlier but I wanted to tell you how wonderful it is. It has to be hard for Devon to deal with someone like Krisis and care for his sister and make sense of the relationship. He probably will be very angry if Leigh becomes a vampire.

2. Yeah, she does look sickly. I couldn't exactly say she's sick without making her look that way. It wouldn't have seemed right. I'm glad you seem to be on the mend.

ReplyDeleteThank you. That means a lot to me. Yes it is incredibly hard for Dev to accept, deal with and understand his sister's relationship with the vampire. He doesn't really understand vampires, hence his suspicious nature towards them. But if he could just allow himself to get to know Krisis, then maybe he'd come around when he sees they aren't really that much different from humans.
Agreed, he will not take the news well when Leigh announces she wants to become one of them.
Loved the jacket too.
